This item is extremely difficult to get around the wire. It takes a very long time to put on and it is near impossible if you have arthritis in your hands. Once on it should keep the cat from chewing the wire. The cat prefers the narrower wires like phone charges and computer charger.
I got the 1/8 inch protector for my phone charger, because I previously got the 1/4 inch one and while it worked fine, it was wayyy too big- slipped right off. The 1/8 inch was the right size for my cord, but it was extremely difficult to get on the charger! My finger tips actually got friction burn after spending 20 minutes getting the first foot on the cord, but I still has nine feet to go!! After two days of me and my family trying to figure out the best way to get it on, we were finally able to get the protector onto my cord. Next day, I brought my charger to a friend’s house- and the protector rolled right off! As soon as I got home- I threw the protector in a drawer and gave up.
Although the product holds the wires it does not stop the cat from chewing on it like it says my cat actually chews on it more now. So I’ll give it some stars for doing what it supposed to do holding the wires but it doesn’t look nice and the cat still scratches on it and chews it
As soon as I got this out, my cat does nothing but chew on it. Cords inside still had teeth marks. It only works for me in the sense that she likes to chew it so much, that I just leave empty bits of it tethered around the house, and she chews on them instead of the cords (usually). But if I actually wanted to protect the cable, I'd go with hard plastic casings every time.
