On first installing the bar, the suction cups seemed to do what they were meant to. However, this didn't last long and draping a bath mat over the bar made it next to impossible to reattach the bar back to the wall. Wanting to give the bar another chance, I tried a few other remedies including using an epoxy and silicone adhesive, allowed the bar to stand with no weight for 48 hours and tried the bath mat again. This resulted in the bar and mat on the floor and the adhesive still on the wall.
This worked quite well for almost exactly one year. It loosened and fell off a couple of times, but cleaning the tile and suction cups was all that was needed. --Until-- It again fell off, but this time the mechanism on one end of the bar had failed. The lever to attach and remove the suction cup just flops around uselessly. It is under warranty through the manufacturer. I will need to see how that goes, but if I have to pay any shipping charges I will just try another brand..
Suction cups do not hold. This was against both smooth, clean tile and to glass. Even with no towel on the rod it would fall within a few hours. With a towel on it, it fell even sooner. I am not willing to put the adhesive circles on my shower. The whole point was nothing permanent, but it does me no good if it won’t hold. FAQ says it’ll hold 15 pounds. Not even close. Am returning.
So I had to put two ugly white stickers over my marble to make this thing stay. Why can’t they be clear like my other suction cup stickers? Then this thing lasted about 2 weeks before the plastic piece internally threaded to the suction cup broke. I wouldn’t even rebuy it- but I can’t get the damn white stickers off.
I put this towel rack on a new glass shower door per the manufacturer directions (cleaned with alcohol) and it held just fine until I placed a damp towel on it. Tried three times and after a couple of minutes, the towel bar slid down the door and released. It will not hold a towel. I will be returning.
Great design, seems sturdy if it worked, but it falls within minutes of being installed. Very weak suction. Yes, it comes with adhesive pads, but I can't stick adhesive on my bathroom tile in a rental apartment. Back to the drawing board.
Stuck this to clean smooth tile, it fell off within 3 minutes. Stuck to a clean mirror as test, it fell off there within minutes. This product is junk. Doubt I will return it because by the time I acquire a proper box for shipping, go to post office, and pay to ship it, just won't be worth the cost in money and frustration. Do not buy this.
I purchased this item b/c I live in an apartment without towel racks in the bathrooms. The walls are marble, providing a perfect surface for the product. I cleaned all surfaces with alcohol and otherwise followed directions. It fell down in a few days. Disappointing and a waste of money. Do not recommend.
