After many, many years of buying non-stick cookware, it finally dawned on me that the worn-off non-stick coating was going to one place and one place only... my stomach! Even the best of the best non-stick cookware will eventually wear. So, at the tender age of 65 years, I finally decided to replace ALL my pots and pans with stainless. And you don't have to always get the priciest. This 7" saucepan I mostly use to boil water for tea, reheat soup or leftovers, and there was no reason to pay, for example, All-Clad prices for such mundane kitchen tasks. This is a well-built, well-balanced and rather handsome saucepan, and for the money, it's a steal IMHO.

I like this pot very much, its well built and ergonomic. I use it to cook anything from a roux to miso, handle doesn't heat up as much as I thought it would, lid is sturdy too. Product was well packed and no damage, see photos. Not a Career Chef, but had two years of school, this is a type of pot we used and I recommend this to anyone.

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting too much from a made in China pan. It was just a pan I needed to replace a well worn saucepan to tide me over until I graduate and can afford a higher end set. I stand corrected and this is a nice pan. I have one All-Clad pan and the only real difference between the two is the thickness of the aluminum core. The All-Clad's core is about twice as thick. This does make a difference and the price premium for All-Clad creates the reasonable expectation that it will have a superior performance. $120 vs $30. But there's nowhere near a 4X difference in performance. The Cooks Standard is a nice, mirror polished and heavy saucepan. It heats pretty evenly and has done well for sauces without excessive hot spots to burn the sauce. The handle is more comfortable and easier to use than All-Clad's handles. It's been sitting on the stove, cleaned, for a few days now and I like to pick it up because it just feels nice and heavy. I can wholeheartedly recommend this saucepan. You won't be disappointed.
