Since 10 to 15% of the population has nickel allergies, and acidic foods like tomato sauce can leach unhealthy amounts according to a recent OSU study, they should have labelled what metals are present in their pots so that the consumers with this problem can avoid them. Better yet, they should take nickel metal out of all their pots and pans since its also a known reproductive toxin (shown to cause infertility) and is a carcinogen in higher amounts. Of course they don't seem to have the consumers health or wellbeing in mind but more their corporate profits. There are other cookware companies that have removed the nickel metal and are going out of their way to inform consumers. These companies who are more ethically responsible will win out in the end, but it's unfortunate that Farberware is causing health problems in unsuspecting people and does not train their employees with accurate information. Farberware is also stingy in not compensating for the mistake they made. Some of these pots have nickel and some don't but there is no way to find out before buying them. They also said it was difficult to get the different factories around the world to label the pots with metal content because they had no control over that which seems false to me since they are contracting to have them made and other symbols are engraved on the bottom.
