This comes in an outer product box that is sealed in plastic wrapping. It is made in China. It is cruelty free.
I have tried the Focallure brand before and enjoyed their products. What I have tried I purchased from the focallure website. When I was doing research before buying from them for the first time I found out that there is a fake website selling Focallure products that claims to be Focallure, but they never seem to actually fulfill the orders after purchase. So, even though I know the right website to purchase from, I love that they’re on Amazon now! Because they knew the fake website was an issue, they started putting little “Focallure official genuine product” stickers on their products that you can scratch off to check to make sure it is an authentic Focallure product. I liked that the company recognized there was an issue and did something about it and they continued it here on Amazon! You scratch it off or scan the QR code, then go to the real focallure website and you will be able to find out if it’s authentic.
The palette is a black circular plastic palette with clasp closure. There’s a mirror in the lid. Half of the palette is a “luminizing” highlighter color and the other half is a matte contour color.
There are 3 shade options. I like that there’s a product photo showing swatches for each of the shade options. For contour, I like mine to be cool toned. Contour is meant to mimic shadows, so to me, it should be cool toned. However, it’s pretty hard to find a true cool toned contour that’s light enough for my fair skin. For some reason, most things labeled as contour always seem to have a warm undertone, which to me is a bronzer.
Looking at the product photo with swatches of the different shade options, it looks like - 01 “Golden & Brown” has a “radiance luminizer for a lit-from-within glow” and a “matte bronzer warms the complexion.” So, why they call it a highlighting and contour palette, but then call the shade a bronzer I don’t know. But, it looks to be like a kind of banana powder as the highlighting shade, with a light but warm toned bronzer shade.
02 “Natural Shimmer & Coffee” has a “radiance luminizer for a lit-from-within glow” and a “matte bronzer warms the complexion.” This seems to be a light cream colored highlighter shade and a light neutral, slightly warm leaning bronzer.
03 “Silver & Light Brown” has a “radiance luminizer for a lit-from-within glow” and a “matte bronzer warms the complexion.” The photo showing the swatches looks like it’s the same exact swatches as the ones for 02. So, that was annoying.
I decided to go with 02 “Natural Shimmer & Coffee.” The highlighter shade looked light enough for my fair skin and the contour shade looked slightly warm, so I figured I’d end up using it more as a bronzer than contour.
The powder is soft and smooth. It doesn’t look powdery. It picks up with a brush easily and applies nice and smooth. It isn’t patchy at all. The contour shade looks about how it does in the product photos. It is pigmented, but it still works well for my fair skin as long as I’m careful and not too heavy handed. I use it as a bronzer because it is on the warmer side. The highlight shade is nice too. The shimmer in it is very light, so it gives a nice, soft glow.
Overall, I really like this. It works well and looks good on. It doesn’t look powdery or patchy. I like the light and dark shades. I would have preferred the contour shade be cool toned to actually use it as a contour, but it works great as a bronzer. If you’re looking for a good highlighter and contour palette and don’t might a warm contour or would look a good bronzer, I think you’d be happy with this!
I am rather a makeup novice especially for contour or any color makeup. But recently, I have decided to put a bit more effort and time into it. So after watching a few youtube videos by beauty influencers and reading reviews from multiple sites, I have purchased ‘too cool for school’ shading/blusher. But as a ham-fisted, blending 2 or 3 colors to get the right shade for different parts of the face wasn't as easy as I thought. So I wanted a more simple contour palette with one highlight and one shade color. So this seemed to fit what I wanted. The bottom line is that I think this one was worth the price for sure. The natural shimmer color isn’t too shimmery rather looks light and natural enough for brightening without going overboard after blending. I think this one would work out for all skin tones IMO. Also the coffee color gives a deeper and a good shade for contouring on fair to light to a bit darker skin tones as it is easily buildable. Overall, from packaging to the case to the quality to the colors, I am satisfied with this bronzer as a novice. (Although, I am sure if you are really good at doing makeup you can use more complex ones with more shades).
The Focallure Bronzer and Highlighter Palette is a good quality bronzer/highlighter compact that offers good long-lasting color that doesn't irritate the skin. The makeup offers good color that seems to work for most skin tones. It's neither too brown nor orange and the highlight is not too pale or whitening. The creamy powder sets to a nice matte finish with a tiny bit of sparkle that doesn't look garish or too adolescent. It did not irritate my skin in any way and was easy to apply - a little bit goes a long way with this particular palette. The makeup is also easy to remove using makeup remover and a good facial soap. The compact does not come with any type of applicator, so you will need to provide your own brush, sponge, or makeup pad. The reflective top also does not come with a mirror, so if you want to touch up on the go, you will need to provide your own. Overall, it's a good quality bronzer/highlighting kit that's a good value for the price. It's worth trying out if you're looking for a budget-friendly bronzing kit or just want to play with some new makeup.
I am by far not a make-up expert--just learning and like trying new things. I have seen a lot of people that use bronzer to contour their face and wanted to try it. This palette is great--first off, it seems high quality--the palette is made well and the powder comes off easily onto a brush, but not too much. I used it to contour my face and was happy with the result--it is very subtle, which is what I wanted and worked well. I think for the price this is a good deal. It feels like a much more expensive make-up than what it is. Happy with this product.
I ordered this small size palette in shade “Natural Shimmer&Coffee” and the palette includes of a highlighter and a bronzer which very nice to have both highlighter and bronzer in one small size palette. The highlighter is super bright with powdery texture but when you apply it on your skin, it doesn’t have so much pigment and also it looks like a matte finish highlighter as it doesn’t have shimmery finish after applying on skin. The bronzer is not super dark or very bright so I really like it but it has cool undertone which is not a perfect option as a bronzer but still you can use it for contouring as it has powdery texture and blends is very well on a skin with a very smooth and even finish. The powder texture is not super heavy so it works very well on all skin texture from normal to dry skin. I think the price is very good and the size of the pallet is perfect to have it in your purse wherever you go.
This Bronzer and Highlighter Palette is a good product. its colors are not very intense, which makes it ideal for light colors. my wife loved it and she uses it regularly. one of the most important characteristics is that it is durable, although it is not completely waterproof. It is a very good product and of good quality for its price.
I've always used only blush and was happy with that. However, lately I have been experimenting and trying new makeup products and techniques and wanted to give it a try to highlighters and contours. The contour it is not too pigmented, which allows you to start with a very light shade and darken that shade as needed by applying a few extra layers. Face and cheek area definitely gets a better and more defined look when using it. The highlighter is not too shimmery like most of the options out there. It does add that extra bright to the cheeks, nose, chine, forehead and eyes. This is perfect for the day. For night, I would apply extra layers or even a more glittery highlighter. It comes sealed and includes a mirror which has a protective layer, so make sure you remove it.
