I'm pretty sure this ink caused my printer to stop working, but having bought this ink I'm reluctant to buy official ink to test it to see if it still prints though, I purchased these afew months ago, I installed it and the printer attempted to print out a alignment page... it never did. And so I tried some trouble shooting, and the problem persisted. I tried some more trouble shooting, and got an error message. There it sat for awhile, and i came back to it afew times trying to get it to work, today I decided to install the old in cartridges and the printer just booted back up normally, obviously i cant test if it can print though... So yeah,, not a fan.
I bought two of these refill ink cartridges in March 2020. I opened the first one in August 2020. The blue was completely empty or was clogged, it just didn’t work, there was nothing there. Are used it as long as I could using only black ink to print as much as possible. I finally got to a point where I needed to have a good bright blue color. I threw away 3/4 of a cartridge because there was no blue in it. I shook up a new one made sure it was open correctly and inserted it properly. This time there is no yellow. Two brand new cartridges and both times it has been missing a color I will not buy from this company again. Although I will say that the two colors that were in there did print very nicely and did last a good long time.
The first time that I bought from Greenbox the ink was great! No problems and easy install. The second time I bought the multi-pack and only had to replace the color, went great and saved back the black ink. Fast forward a year later and it's time to use and replace the black ink. My HP4500 says the new cartridge is empty even though I can feel a difference in weight and know that there is ink in there and there is no way to bypass the error message- trust me I scoured the internet for solutions. When looking at the computer chip on the back of the cartridge I noticed that it has a different design than the other black ink cartridge. Also, the new ink cartridge has "TC 20D" printed on the side whereas the older one has "TC20A" printed on the side. Not sure if that means anything... Super bummed I'm out money. Would not recommend it.
I have a HP Envy 4500 printer and it handles these cartridges just fine. Upon installation I get a cautionary message on my computer warning me I've installed previously used HP ink cartridges and then it's business as usual. My printer has no problem tracking ink levels and the ink seems to last just as long as with any other cartridge. Print quality is perfectly satisfactory to me but I have an older printer and I don't do any photo or high-res. printing so I can't judge whether or not you'd see a difference in quality using higher end printers. Lastly, you can't beat the price.
I have purchased a number of "off brand" ink cartridges, and I know my printer is probably so confused right now. Last month, I installed HP ink, this month "GreenBox". Out of the box, they fit properly, of course, my poor printer didn't recognize them and alerted me to the fact that they were "used" (what ever than means). I started printing shortly afterwards and everything is up-to-par (in my opinion). I can only say, I am pleased with this ink in the first week, and quality is no different than installing the totally over priced HP ink. I can not make a assessment regarding how well this will do in the long run, but for now, I am happy with my purchase.
Installed cartridge into HP 4500 and it says there was a problem with the cartridge and needs to be replaced. I tried everything to get it to work and it still didn’t work. I emailed customer service about it 5 days ago for help and still awaiting response.
Ive recently received two sets of these ink cartridges. On the first set the color ink cartridge wouldn’t be recognized, put in a return for a swap out got the second set and the same thing.. One would think Maybe a problem with the printer being its the same issue with two different cartridges but the printer works just fine with HP ink
The Tri-Color did not work in my HP 3050A. The printer reported something to the effect “problem with tri-color cartridge” and would not respond to any button presses. I wrote to GREENBOX and they responded promptly. However, their procedures did not fix the problem. They then refunded my money. Yea, HP is making it hard to use 3rd party ink, and that’s a problem. I appreciate that GREENBOX is providing an alternative. However, it the cartridge did not work at all, in any way, and this in a printer listed as supported. Not sure what to make of that. Works for other people, but maybe not this printer. GREENBOX support was great, and provided a refun after one round, but in the end I had to do extra work to deal with it. Have not tried the Black cartridge. Hopefully that will work or more extra work.
I bought a refill ink cartridge from Greenbox a few years ago and it worked perfectly. After that I started buying from different manufacturers based on pricing. I always ran into problems with the cartridges from other companies. The cartridges either would not work at all or would "run out of ink" long before they were empty. After more than one disappointment I will only buy from Greenbox moving forward. It is well worth a few extra dollars to know my ink cartridges are are going to work every time and they are still competitively priced.
I recently installed this aftermarket color cartridge, replacing an empty HP OEM Color Cartridge. After printing just a couple of color graphs, and two 8x10 prints of my beloved bride, a third 8x10 print stopped printing correctly about one-third of the way through. The top third had normal color and the bottom 2/3 was faded. The printer software said I was low on ink. I ended up transmitting my desired print to Walmart and they did a great job, providing the print I needed for less money than trying to print it myself at home. My new way to go.
