The shower head works well as advertised, lights and all. My disappointment is that the bracket that you screw onto the water pipes and that the hose screws into is made of plastic. The hose on the other hand is steel, so if someone tries to cut it, it is armored, but the part that screws into the pipes, the part you would want to be strong and secure, is made of plastic. If you don't overtighten it as the instructions warn against, it works fine. I just have this nagging feeling that it was not produced with durability in mind
This is the "luxury" edition of their other showerhead. HotelSpa All Chrome 5 Setting LED/LCD Handheld Shower-Head with Lighted LCD Temperature Display by Top Brand Manufacturer! Color of LED lights changes automatically according to water temperatureodes where this one has 7. This one only lights up, as described in the product description. The other model also has a digital temp read out. Upgraded from the 5 to the 7 rain intensities. ALMOST easier than I could have wished for... I thought I could simply swap showerheads but as it turns out the metal hose that matches the showerhead is what needs swapped (as well). Presuming your old shower head isn't hard water WELDED in place, this is a no tools installation. If you need a tool it would be a channel lock and a cloth to keep from damaging the finish on the old connection. Be sure to clean ALL of the old teflon tape from the existing pipe threads before adding the new, included in the box, teflon. Remember wrap the tape same direction you are tightening the NEW connection. 2 wraps is plenty, more than 3 and you are asking for trouble.
I have previously written a very negative review with one star because the led light only worked for a couple of months. I was very disappointing. However, for some reason it has started working again and now works fine. I have therefore modified my review. The colours are not very intense, though. The selection of water jets is excellent.
This thing is great! I had been using a "dual shower" from Walmart and it had a hand held with all of these features except the led's. It always seemed like I wasn't getting all of the water. I purchased this one and immediately installed it upon arrival and jumped into the shower. This unit is really the best shower head I've ever bought. It won't rip the Hair out of your head but it supplies a quality "full" flow. It feels very well made despite being a chrome colored plastic. The lighted water temperature feature is the best thing for me. I work construction and often come home windburned or chilled and try to take a shower that is way too hot, damaging my skin further. With this I keep my water temperature just between green and red (alternating) and I don't end up like a red lobster when I exit the shower. I even tried showering with only the shower head light. (Not recommended but kinda relaxing). Will probably purchase this again for other showers and friends
Super simple install and mod to work with our already low-flow shower. Really love the temperature visual aspect of this shower head and the multiple modes (including a "water saver" option) are a nice plus. Only reason for the star deductions are the shrieking cry it has started after five months of use. So far, quickly shifting between modes or flipping the diverter valve seems a bit enough of a jolt to get everything moving to stop the noise. Pretty sure the shrieking is from the internal generator that uses water flow to power the LEDs. When it shrieks, the light flickers or shuts off entirely leading to the assumption that the noise is from the rotor becoming jammed or stuck and unable to rotate. When the shock treatment no longer helps solving this, we'll have to toss or disassemble this thing to try to fix it; the noise is deafening and so very irritating - especially when you're just waking up in the morning before your coffee. [Update June 2022] Almost exactly four months after purchase, the shower head has started its infamous banshee cry and the previous tricks to reset the rotor and silence it are no longer working. This thing will be going into the bin now. Thankfully, the original price was much lower than what it shows currently; this product will never be worth more than thirty bucks. I will be replacing with a proper brand name option that won't make me hate my mornings even more than I already do and it costs only slightly more.
This is a MUST for households with elderly, children, and people with temperature insensitive skin (meaning it's hard to feel temperatures on the skin).
The colors show the heat value of the water. Blue is cold to lukewarm, Green is warm to very warm, Red is hot, and Flashing Red is scalding. The neons are very bright and do change as the water temps change while you are showering. I enjoy taking a shower at night with the room lights off as the neon lighting gives a cool glow to the room. I know, I'm weird..
The item took less than 10 minutes to install (disclaimer: I did use pliers & some white plumbing tape to ensure a tight non-leaking fit). The hose is long enough for someone sitting on a tub seat or in the tub to use comfortably. There are 7 pulsing settings, like a Shower Massage unit.
I had an ugly, old fashioned shower head in my apartment. I wanted to replace the head with something that would be easy to install and remove later if I move. I found this fixture during all the sales around Christmas and it was a great affordable price. The best thing about this shower head was the ease of install. I have never done this before and I was able to install this by myself very easily. There are no leaks! The color changing LEDs are a blast, but also very practial. I now know before I step foot in the shower if the water is cold, warm, hot, or scalding hot. This fixture looks great and appears far more expensive than it is. I do wish the hose was a bit longer to reach the far end of the shower better, but it's a small issue.
We like our shower heads. We purchased 2 for our guest bathroom and master baths. However, after about 6 months, ours in the master bath started squealing and making a horrible noise. I took it down and use CLR on it because I thought it might be due to hard water, but that didn't help either. The shower head in the guest bath room still works great, but it is rarely used. I recommend the product, but we are dissatisfied w/ the product currently. If I could get someone from the company to assist us, that would be great. Nothing worse than waking up to take a shower and thinking about your day and having a squealing in your ear. Irritating as hell.
