FYI a friend of mine ordered 4 of these monitors. One of them was with a stuck pixel and another was constantly blinking. So out of 6 monitors only one didn't have stuck pixels, but it had a noticeable green tint on the right side corner.
It's a pure lottery. However, If you are lucky and got a good unit - then well good for you. The monitor itself is fantastic, especially at the price point.
FYI - I've received GN850 - it's an absolutely identical monitor. One to one. Even interface, logos, colors, everything. The only difference is pacaging - with GN850 you get two extra cables (that I didn't need in the first place). However GN850 was perfect. No tinting, no stuck pixels. So may be the $300+ difference in price is for a better quality control?
Just received a replacement and it also has a dead pixel. This product to me is LG pushing a batch of panels that were probably rejected for the 850 or 950 models.
Over the 3-month waiting time, I contacted Amazon customer service numerous times. Each time they give me a different answer of when the item will become in stock. I received answers like "it will be in stock on Oct.15" and "You will receive it within 3 days" for so many times - so they just blatantly give out false information. What they do keep consistent is that they all tell me "once it's in stock we'll ship it for you and send you an email about its stock right immediately". But hey, I had to find out that the item was in stock on Dec.10 from Reddit. They didn't send any email to me. Nor was my order shipped. I had to cancel the item and re-place an order. Also one of the customer services is just RUDE. She literally just told me "contacting us like this isn't helpful". I mean excuse me? It's not my fault that you're delaying an item for 3 MONTHS? And you're criticizing me for contacting you about it?
Oh but if we ignore the horrible customer service from Amazon.ca and the delay, and if we're talking about the monitor itself - it's perfect. It's beautiful, the 1440p clarity, the perfectly curved 21:9, the 160hz refreshrate and the nano-ips response time... Used it with an RTX3090 and turned on G-Sync and everything is buttery smooth without tearing. It's everything you could imagine and beyond that. I haven't been stunned so much by an electronic device for years. I bought OLED TVs and I bought projectors to use with 120'' screens and none of them impressed me THIS much. Also it's such a great deal at CDN$1,000, feels like stealing. This is the one monitor that dominates. It is exactly the same as 34GN950, but $500 cheaper. All other models are either 100/120hz, or 1080p, or using a VA panel. This is the only one that has everything you could possibly ask for. Just buy it.
Anyways gaming is great productivity is great 34” curved is great 144hz is great. This monitor has changed my life and I have never looked back. This is a solid upgrade from 27” 1440p and I wouldn’t be able to listen to anyone who says otherwise.
