12 INCH PRO-LOGIC SEASONED CAST IRON SKILLET
This unique design gives you the traditional benefits of cast iron with a modern twist. The updated handle, sloped sides and innovative loop assist handle bring a contemporary look and feel to your kitchen, allowing you to pan fry the perfect egg, or easily grill up some brussel sprouts over an open flame.

CARING FOR YOUR CAST IRON
Caring for your cast iron doesn’t have to be complicated! Lodge cookware is pre-seasoned, so you can make your family's favorite recipe without needing to season the skillet first. You can use it on the stove top or the campfire (just not the microwave). Grill fresh salmon or bake some warm buttered biscuits in your skillet, enjoying the easy-release finish that cast iron is known for.

After hand washing your cookware, simply place it on a burner for a few minutes and then rub in a thin layer of oil to help maintain your hard earned seasoning.

LODGE MANUFACTURING COMPANY
Founded in 1896, the Lodge family has been making high quality cast iron for over a century. Joseph Lodge created a legacy that has lasted through more than half of U.S. history. Even during the challenging times, like the Great Depression, the Lodge family has been committed to keeping their employees and their families afloat. Novelty items such as cast iron animals and garden gnomes were sold in order to keep paychecks coming and families fed.

The Lodge Manufacturing Company is still family run, with both CEO’s being the great-grandsons of Mr. Joseph Lodge himself. As technology has evolved overtime, Lodge has seamlessly stepped up to the plate with innovative products and patented technology.

PROUDLY MADE IN THE U.S.A.
For over 100 years Lodge has been dedicated to manufacturing quality cast iron products that can be passed down from one generation to the next. From summertime campouts to Sunday night dinners, Lodge is happy to be at home on your table.

2.0 out of 5 stars Brand new skillet came with rust spots
By Amazon customer on 20 July 2020
I totally understand that cast iron cookware will rust if not properly taken care of. However I shouldn't expect to see rust spots on a brand new skillet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty simple. Learn your new skillet
Reviewed in the United States on 11 November 2017
I've had this just over a month. Using it regularly it has became my go-to skillet. I'd been around cast iron, but never owned before. But when I bought it, I took my time and learned how to use and care for it. YouTube is your friend. So many videos on how to season, care, and cook with it. In the end, it all comes down to seasoning. Buy stock in paper towels and oil(your choice, I use olive oil). You'll use both of them a lot. Don't trust these reviews who say their skillet rusted after the first use. They don't have a clue what they're doing. News flash: iron rusts when left in water for too long. Soooo, you don't. Pretty simple. Learn your new skillet. Take care of it, and I promise it will take care of you. 2 side notes... Don't trust anyone who says not to use cast iron on an open flame/grill. That's. Literally. What. It. Was. Made. For. Also, if using a glass stovetop, particularly a white one, know that the grease from the bottom will burn onto it. Especially at higher heats. Clean it regularly and it won't be a problem. To recap: season every time you clean it. Don't let water sit in it for hours. Also, don't throw it into the sink with cold water while it's still hot. ENJOY!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars this is my new favorite pan!
Reviewed in the United States on 11 December 2014
Since moving away from non-stick and cooking primarily on cast iron, this is now my new favorite pan for cooking eggs.

I did make some changes and it is probably not for the faint of heart, but the day I got this pan, I got out my drill and a disk sander drill bit with 40 grit, 80 grit, 120, and lastly 180. I completely sanded down the inside of the pan which took a good while with the 40, and then systematically used the finer grits, until I got a completely polished interior. Once done, I washed it with hot water getting all the metal shavings out, and then instantly dried it and seasoned it a couple of times before using it. I attached an image to show what the pan looks like after Sanding it down.

One thing to make sure of is that the pan is hot before cooking eggs on it. But once it's hot and ready to go, I was able to put a little bit of oil and cook an egg on the pan, and I barely had to touch it. The egg just glided around the pan til I was read to flip it.

You can look up "sanding down cast iron" or more specifically "ETM: Sanding and Polishing Cast Iron cookware" on youtube which also shows what I did.

Even without sanding it down, this is an amazing pan, and will last me a lifetime.
