I'm using an external monitor that is attached to a flexible desk mount - this allows me to level the screen for a comfortable viewing position. Please note that the Pono board is fairly high above the ground; ensure that your standing desk can be elevated sufficiently so that you can still reach the keyboard if you plan to type.

I ended up sending the first version of the board back. Jeff Olson and his team were willing to accept the return and spent time to understand the issues I was having. I got the refund and was satisfied. Great customer service at work there.
Unexpectedly, I received an email directly from Jeff several months later offering to send me the latest version of there board at no cost. He mentioned they had made improvements to the balls and the coating. I said absolutely.
The new board is great. Here's why:
1. The balls are way better.
a. No leaking issues after a month of use.
b. They are a new design, and are "taller" and less stable, making the board more dynamic... which is awesome!
2. The coating is way better. It is not a urethane like finish anymore, so it stays WAY more clean and does not react with the balls.
I would definitely recommend the newest version of the board. It's a great product now and worth the investment.
I so very much wanted to love this board, but unfortunately, the balls have been failing. Pono Ola has been great with responding, but I have had two balls fail in three weeks and one develop a slow leak. Pono Ola replaced one, so, of the five balls I've had, two have failed and one has a problem. That is a 40% success rate. Small sample size, but could be indicative of an issue.
I'm 185 lbs and I use it at my stand up desk. It sets on carpet. I'm on and off ~10 times a day. Nothing in that would indicate that it is something unique to my application of the board.
Additionally, the balls react with the finish on the board and both get sticky. Since its on the ground, the stickiness attracts all kinds of gross things (dust, hair, dirt, etc). In short, you can't keep it clean.
To be honest, I'm likely to return it as there has been too much maintenance (filling the balls every two days with the slow leak) and failures. I paid a premium price for this product and, unfortunately, it has not lived up to expectations.
The pump wasn’t included at first, but the company sent it quickly once I notified them of the issue. When I first started pumping the feet up, I was skeptical. It takes some work and you have to pull the needle out as soon as you stop pumping or they will start deflating. It also didn’t look like it would support my weight.
But.... once I got on the thing, all was forgiven. I have no idea what kind of “core workout” I’m getting, and I don’t care. Why? Because boing boing boing wiggle wiggle boing boing. It is FUN. It makes it easy to stand longer, and you kind of can’t help wanting to dance around when using it. At the same time, it’s stable enough, with very little up and down movement, that I can still type/mouse. When I was just standing on the floor, more than 15 minutes was tough. I can stand on this for at least an hour at a time before wanting a break. This from someone who is overweight and in poor shape. It is super. And it’s holding up just fine with heavy use. Very glad I got it.
It is no good for a standing workstation. I expected a larger and thicker board to stand on. I expected the balance challenge to come only from the air-filled balls, not from a board that sags slightly in the middle when you stand on it. It sags for people who are normal sized and not overweight.
The board surface is too small to allow you to move your feet to a different position safely unless you are looking at it to see where your feet are going.
Maybe it is ok for barefoot yoga poses.
