4.0 out of 5 stars Although the inside stains/pits easily, a VERY nice pot.
Reviewed in the United States on 16 March 2019
I was looking for a small handle-less pot, and this Fosslang Milk Pot was a nice find. It lacks a Long Handle so is easy to store, but is large enough for many cooking/boiling tasks. Only downside is that the inside wears out easily, but this is a known issue as the manufacturer states that "pitting" isn't covered under warranty. When it's in stock again I plan on purchasing another and putting it aside for when the first one wears out.

Induction? YES!
---------------------------
As one who has searched for induction-capable pots/pans, obviously have to make a point of saying that ***YES*** this pot is indeed Induction Capable. It says so in the specs and has the "induction symbol" stamped on the bottom along with the ones for gas, electric, ceramic, etc.

Measurements
-----------------------
Diameter of base/bottom: 4 6/8"
Inside diameter: 5 1/2"
Outside diameter/rim: 5 7/8"
Widest point (spout): 6 1/8"
Width including handle: 8 1/2" (ish)
Height without lid: 4 7/8"
Height with lid on: 7" (ish)
Length of handle (vertical only): 3 1/2" (ish)

Volume?
---------------
I was able to fill this pot (to the very top) with 7.5 cups of water. Obviously you wouldn't fill it that high when using it, but so far as total volume/space goes, this pot holds 7.5 cups, which means it's actual size (by volume?) is *almost* two quarts. For practical everyday use, though, the fill line says 1.5L (6 cups-ish), which is pretty close to 1.5 quarts. Perfection.

Do the handles get "hot"?
----------------------------------------
If one leaves the lid on for a while, then the handle on the lid will begin to get too-hot-to-touch. So far as the handle on the side goes, I have been able to pick it up by the VERTICAL portion of the handle at any time with happy fingers. However, the HORIZONTAL portion of the handle (where it connects to the pot) was always Too Hot. So long as I *never* touched the HORIZONTAL portion of the handle, all was well.

The Lid
--------------
I noticed a few other induction-capable similar-ish sized Milk Pots on Amazon, but in this range, only the Fosslang pot comes with a lid. I have grown accustomed to pots with "vent holes" on the surface of the lid to prevent things from Boiling Over, but this Fosslang pot comes with a "strainer" lid, which isn't the best when trying to prevent things from boiling over. I ended up sticking something under the lid to create a "gap" which would allow me to use the lid without risking a boil-over.

Quality
------------
"Strainer" lid aside, the inside/bottom of the Fosslang does "pit/discolor" over time, and the manual states that "pitting" isn't covered under warranty - must be a normal wear-and-tear issue. If I had to do it all over again, would have only dried the pot with a very soft cloth and possibly "seasoned" the pot to protect against ? acid ? wearing/pitting away the bottom (acidic noodles?).

Warranty?
----------------
The box itself says "10 years guarantee Fosslang guaranteed" but the documentation supplied with the pot lists "two years". Further, the address listed for Warranty Returns is in China, so odds are it would not be viable to ship back for warranty purposes, which means "Warranty = None". Then again, this is an Import Item, so unless one wants to rack up some Frequent Flier Miles, returning might be tricky :)

The Spout
-----------------
For what it is worth, using the "strainer lid" along with the spout does make draining things like noodles incredibly easy. Downside is that noodles seem to stick the bottom and accelerate wear-and-tear, but the lid/spout does make this pot an EXCELLENT choice for cooking pasta. The spout would appear to be on the small side, more like a "dent" than something along the lines of teapots and such. I added a picture with three views of the spout. For a size comparison, I was able to slide a penny into the spout/gap. A nickel would have been too thick.

Very Unrelated: There *IS* a "universal nine inch lid" that does happen to fit this Fosslang Pot **exactly**, and has a "vent hole". Unfortunately, a nine inch lid on a pot this size looks a bit silly. Just in case, the lid was made by RSVP Endurance and the ASIN number was (Feb 2019) B00LU20Z02.

??? I noticed one of the videos attached to this item is called "How to Use Seasoned Steel Pans", and "Seasoning" is one of those Ultra-Fine Print items that helps to slow down wear-and-tear on pots/pans. If one (properly) self-seasons a pot/pan, then one could (in theory) greatly extend it's lifespan. It usually involves cooking oil and then heating the pot/pan on a burner or in an oven, etc. ? ? ?
