The side seam overlap on these envelopes is so small (0.4 inches) that when you insert a full 8.5 x 11 page, it catches on the side seams and they can separate from the large flap (where the glue sticks to) or rip. See first photo above. The second photo shows a more traditional fold design where the side flaps extend nearly 3 inches inward, making it much easier to insert the content into the envelope as there is nothing to catch the outside edges.
I thought I'd be getting a conventional legal sized envelope but when these arrived I saw that the flap was shorter than non self-adhesive envelopes (maybe that's common as I have never used self adhesive envelopes before). Sometimes the contents of my envelopes extend a hair beyond the limits of the envelope, height-wise, but using this envelope and its shorter sealing flap will not give you any confidence that the envelope stays sealed IF you do enclose something that's a bit taller than it should be. Otherwise the envelope in general is OK--not very heavy duty paper but secure enough to provide reasonable security from someone easily looking inside at the contents from outside.
I like the smooth texture to the envelopes and not licking a seal that's been around the world and back is a good thing. However, call me fussy (at least I admit it), but the envelopes have a funny smell, likely connected with their import. Cost is about the minimum for any quantity, but big stores have about the same price (+$2) for 500 count. The feature below should rate "opacity" or 'opaque -ness', not "sheerness", and its opacity is sufficient for security. ('Sheer' being something good for windows, not envelopes.)
These are much thinner than I was expecting. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable putting anything really important in them, but, for mailing out brochures from our nonprofit, they're fine. The adhesive seems to work OK but the envelope itself has a tendency to bubble up in spots when you seal something thicker inside. They do seem to be good from the security perspective, in that you can't see through the envelopes. I just don't have a lot of confidence that these won't tear easily in transit, thus, why I wouldn't put anything super important in them.
Envelopes are OK for regular use but they would not print at all in my laser printer. Was a real let down. Came out wrinkled which was no shock but with now print on them at all. Never seen that before. Think paper is slick or coated and toner won't even stick.
Physically the envelope looks great but the security printing on the inside does little to hide what is inside the envelope. The adhesive could be a bit stronger as well; very easy to open even after it's been sealed.
The overall fit of the product was not so great. I realize fit is a variable by everyone's face, but I wouldn't use this mask for running, and I hope I can use it for non-athletic things such as shopping. I would recommend a gaiter scarf over this mask.
