Unfortunately way larger (diameter) and shallower than I anticipated, the heating part of my hob does not cover the full diameter of the pan base, probably only about 2\3. Said that, once the pan is hot all round it cook's great and cleans easily, I don't use soap or and scourers, generally only use paper towels to wipe down. If loads of food leftover on pan I rinse off with just hot water.
The online product description states that the product is oven-safe to 400 degrees. However, the instruction sheet accompanying the product states that the handles and knobs are oven-safe to only 350 degrees. The online product description also states that it's dishwasher-safe. However, the instruction sheet accompanying the product states that "we do not recommend that you place cookware in the dishwasher."
This has become my all-time favourite pan for frying anything. It has a very tough nonstick coating and everything just slides off it. It’s a breeze to clean up with just a paper towel. I have washed it a few times when something was burnt on, but all it needed was warm water, no detergent. I only had to let it sit for a few minutes and the burnt food slid right off. I’m very impressed, having had disappointing experiences with non-stick fry pans in the past which lost their non-stickiness very quickly. I’ve had it a couple of months now, and use it practically every day. Looks just as good as new. The other thing I really like about it is that it is perfectly flat, and with a ceramic top, this is important.
I bought this pan because I wanted a good quality fry pan with a lid especially for making sunny side up eggs. The pan works very well, except that it rises a little in the middle, so any oil or margarine that you put into the pan settles on the outside edge of the pan. This causes the pan to cook stuff too much in the middle of the pan. That is why I only gave it 4 stars for heat distribution.
I went for T-Fal titanium nonstick for its renowned quality but was deeply disappointed despite taking excessive care and following instructions, like only using medium heat, handwashing with the non-scratch side, silicon spatulas, seasoning it regularly (who does that ?). I was stir frying spinach and forgot for a moment and then the burns appeared. Tried everything from soaking overnight to baking soda but to no avail. The convex base is also very annoying as oil flows to the circumference. I've rough housed $20 nonstick pans with sharp utensils and high heat and had them last longer.
Best skillet I ever owned. The trick is to set the temperature to medium. It will heat up in no time. Makes a beautiful stew or sautéed mushrooms. Easy clean up. I like the depth of the pan with straight walls. You have a large cooking surface and plenty of room to make a large meal. The glass lid is ideal, as you can watch the cooking process without lifting the lid.
