This review is for the Stoneware Loaf Baking Dish.

I wish I would have found this a long time ago.

If I could give this more than five stars, I would.

I have now used this for meatloaf and bread.

I've used no cooking spray, oils, or anything at all to prevent sticking.

The loafs just fall right out nice and clean.

Clean up is as easy as I could ever expect.

Let the pan cool before cleaning, you don't want to risk cracking due to quick changes.

It was so easy to clean I was able to clean it with a wet soapy paper towel.

If you're even remotely thinking about buying this Stoneware Loaf Pan, buy it.

A quick note to the manufacturer ... you should consider making more dishes like this loaf dish.

Waited 2 months for Williams and Sonoma to ship me a Le Creueset bread pain. It arrived in Pierce’s because of poor packaging. This arrived in 4 days and has been perfect in every way! It’s a very solid/sturdy piece and cleans easily. My first loaf was a huge success!

I much prefer Stoneware over Metal or Glass for baking. I find Stoneware to give more even heat distribution. Just the right size, easy to work with when greasing and clean up. This USA pan (at the time of this writing) is currently not available. Looking to order another asap! Cost a little more but well worth it. Highly recommend.

strange smell from interior coating when baking

Was looking to replace my old clay bread pan, and thought this would be it, but it has a big drawback. I handwashed it before using, but the bread came out with an odd smell, kind of like a floral dishwashing detergent odor, that was brought out by the heat. It was quite strong and noticeable when I took the bread out of the pan. The pan doesn't smell when at room temp, just when heated. I handwashed again, using baking soda rather than dish soap, thinking that was what had caused the smell. Nope, the next loaf I made, the smell was just as strong, which is not what you want your bread to smell like. The second time I lined the pan with parchment paper just to be safe, and that seemed to help keep the smell from permeating the bread, but I have to wonder what is in that nonstick coating that would create such a strong synthetic smell. Can't recommend this pan.

2nd Update: 12/2019 I’ve continued to use this pan and today I made white bread. It made the perfect loaf and required no greasing is the pan. This thing is completely non-stick!

Original Review: This pan is amazing! I’ve made meatloaf and banana bread and they both turned out delicious. It’s completely non stick and no greasing was even required for my banana bread!
Clean up is a breeze because nothing sticks to it. Quick wash with soap and water and you’re done in under 30 seconds.
You should get two! Wish I had this 15 years ago!

Arrived scuffed up

I got the stoneware loafpan which seems very sturdy and I would have liked to make bread in that pan but it had scuff marks and specks baked into a very amateur glaze job all over the ceramic. It looked filthy but it was glazed over so you couldn't even wash it off. Returned and bought the Le Creuset loaf pan.

Really looking forward to this, but not sure if we even received the correct product. Looking at the photos in the product description as well as some of the reviews, this has a white exterior and cream colored glazed interior. The product we received is white only, has scuff marks on the top, and glaze missing in parts, similar to what is noted by other reviewers.

Heavy duty bread pan

This bread pan is well made. It is quite heavy, and also easy to clean. The heat distribution seems to be good, but it did take longer than expected to bake the zucchini bread I was making. I think it has to do with the density of the ceramic. I lined it with parchment paper, so that made for a pretty easy clean up. This is a nice piece I think will last a long time. The only thing I think would make it better, would be if it came with a lid.

perfect size for exactly 1 lb. loaf

This is smaller then the typical 9x5 loaf pan, but it is perfect for a 1 lb. loaf. Because he interior is glazed, you should never oil or butter the pan; nor need you flour or sprinkle cornmeal on your pan, although it's OK if you do. Your bread will not stick. But because the pan doesn't conduct heat the way a metal pan does, your bread will take longer to bake; therefore, you might also want to raise the oven temperature.
