Update 10/18/20 They don't ride up when running. I like them :)
Original Review: These are nice. They do run slightly big, I’m glad I read other reviews mentioning that, and I bought an XS instead of my normal S size. For reference, I’m 5’5”, 116lbs, waist 26.5in, hips 37.5in and the XS is the right fit for me. They’re a nice length. I bought them for walks and runs, I actually have not wore them actively yet, but they don’t feel like they will ride up. I’ll try to remember and edit this review once I do wear them for a run, to report how they did.
I first bought these shorts in XS Jet Grey (010)/Black color- all grey color. For reference, I am 5'2" 108 lbs. I live in a hot, humid climate and these shorts are so comfortable and light. I normally prefer athletic shorts with a built-in brief, but these were so comfortable that I purchased a 2nd pair in Twist Black (001)/White- grey with black trim. I found that the 2nd pair is a little more billowy in fit (waist is fine), and I don't like the look of the contrast trim as much- but still, a very comfortable short. I will keep both pairs.
The shorts are as described and pictured. Sizing is well defined as well. I use either S or XS. According to the sizing chart, XS had to fit well and it did. The color is exactly as on the photo. The price of $18 on sale for a brand pair of running shorts was great in comparison to non-brand for $25+. Worth the money.
These are better for “athleisure” than actually working out. I was looking for a less expensive alternative to the Lululemon and Athleta shorts I love. These are affordable but you get what you pay for. They’re a weird, thick material (almost like wool) and have no stretch at all. The shorts are low-rise, and I like the stretchy waistband—it’s very comfortable.
However, don’t breathe and don’t move with you; they’re not comfortable for running. They also don’t have a liner panty, which I prefer in workout shorts.
They fit true to size. I’m 5’4”, 120 lbs with an athletic build and bought the XS.
I have dozens of Under Armor shorts, bought my usual size. They are just plain awkward fitting. They sit more low rise, but even as a low rise short, they are way too tight in the crotch (camel toe). Then they poof out on the sides. Returning.
