MONITOR MOUNTING MADE SIMPLE
Attaching the VESA Plate
The open slot VESA plate makes screen mounting easy! Insert screws into the top 2 holes on your monitor, slide the plate onto the screws, and then insert the bottom screws. Fits most screens with VESA 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
The C-clamp is a sturdy attachment method for those who do not have a pre-installed opening in their office desk. The clamp fits desks up to 3.25" in thickness and secures by tightening the bottom knob.
The grommet mount boasts maximum security and inserts through a pre-installed opening in your desk. Simple hand tightening is all that's required for this mounting option as well. Perfect for office setups in high traffic areas.
The pneumatic arm allows you to tailor the stand's tension to the weight of your screen. Turn the bolt clockwise to reduce the tension for lighter monitors and counter-clockwise to increase the tension for heavier monitors.

First of all, my monitor mount did not come with the 5mm allen key so I had to rely on my screwdriver bit set and my own hands to assemble some components of this monitor mount. Furthermore, it renders me incapable of easily adjusting the tension on the monitor. That's simply unacceptable for any product anywhere to be missing key installation components.
Perhaps more importantly, however, this monitor mount has multiple aspects of its design that render it fundamentally inferior to other monitor mounts by Vivo, particularly the more " premium" mount here:
The VESA mounting plate is attached to the monitor mount itself and is not free floating, meaning the installation of the monitor is considerably more finicky in comparison to their "premium" 32 inch monitor mount. On that model, the VESA plate is installed onto your monitor which is then slotted in the monitor mount. With this product, you have to leave 3mm of space on the top bolts and then insert them into the monitor mount. If you haven't adjusted the tilt tension it's easy for your monitor to fall off the monitor mount.
Next, the cable management design is horrendous compared to the more "premium" mount. This one has screws along the way and there is just BARELY room for two cables along one side, nevermind the three that my monitor has coming out the back end. This does have a functional impact because tight cables means adjusting the monitor has that much more tension and this is independent of the tension the bolts provide in the arms. The lack of a third cable management option at the bottom of the mount means that you may have some cables protruding towards you instead of neatly being guided from the second arm of the mount around to the back. The installation was made especially frustrating due to the lack of the 5mm allen key which has the screw bit on the other end because the second arm does not have much space between the screw and the desk. If, like me, you do not have a short screwdriver and the allen key was absent from your product, then you're left to your own devices to figure out how to install it. In comparison, the more "premium" mount has cable covers that do not require screws and are designed in a way to provide more room for cables AND for movement of these cables. There is also a design along the back (behind the clamp) to hold your allen keys for easy access in the future and an additional cable management option. Installation with this mount from the link above was comparatively easy, painless and provides a much better function.
The final downside is the price. At a whopping 2x the price, the "premium" monitor mount will give you the mount you deserve. However, this price is mostly arbitrary as the design comes down to a conceptual level. There is no difference in plastic between the two cable management options and the only other material difference is the texture of the metal of the mount. The only real reason for the increase in price is the ability to use 32inch monitors. Why is there not an identical mount for those with 27inch monitors? It's baffling that if you have a 27inch monitor you have to pay twice as much money for a product with seamless installation and uncompromised function.
Is the difference worth it? No. Is this mount worth it? If you have the required allen key, patience, and are willing to deal with an inferior cable management system, then yes. Those are not insignificant criteria, however, hence my rating and inability to recommend this monitor mount.
Cool. Took them off to move my desk around, and noticed that the padding is so insufficient that it left screw hole indents on my table. Changing my review to 1 star. Furious to find out this scarred the surface of my desk.
The monitors can be a bit wobbly when I type a bit too vigorously
There isn't much room for the cable management tracks, You will probably only be able to get two cables through (though that was enough for me!)
i had difficulty mounting these using the clamps. the screw for the clamps needs about 8" clearance to mount it, so if the part of your desk has another shelf below it, you wont be able to fit this on with the clamp screw. the other issue i had is that other edges of my desk have support bars running under them, close to the sides, which are far more narrow than the clamps for this, and the clamp was unable to operate on them, as the weight of the monitors twisted the clamps off the narrow metal bar.
i was forced to mount these by drilling a hole in the desk, and that worked well. the pin screw for hole mounting doesnt require as much space to fit as the clamp. the mounted stand arm is very sturdy once installed. everything you need to mount these is in the box, allen keys, etc. unless you need to drill holes.
these easily manage the weight of my 27" monitors with a little adjustment. they are a little stiff to move and position, but its different by unit, i find one of my stands a bit stiffer than the other. while they have a lot of placement options, there are some positions that you cant move these, due to the arm being made of 2 solid, straight parts. so keep that in mind when youre mounting them, especially if youre drilling holes.
i found it helpful to mount one of these with the monitor attached using the clamp arm, and practice moving it around to see how the arm would bend moving it in anticipated positions to be sure the arm wouldnt hit the wall or interfere with the other arm. i found this useful as if you mount this directly where the monitor stand used to be, the monitor will be about 6-7" in front of that, which may be too in your face. i found it was best to mount this 6" to the side, because if you want the monitor to be able to be pushed back as far as the stand is mounted, the way the arm needs to bend puts it off to the side.
this has cable management routing on the arm too, but make sure that your cables have lots of slack. the way this mount arm twists and turns eats up a lot of cable length. my monitor has many inputs and after the power, audio and display port cables, im not sure i could fit another HDMI cable through it for an alternate source, which is one of the reasons i bought these monitors, but ill make it work somehow.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, it can be a bit hard to position the stand in certain ways.... up and down seems to be easy to position but if i try to pull the monitor forward or push it back, it takes a bit of effort and feels a bit stiff. For the price of the unit, that is a really minor fault.
besides that I am very happy I got this. it makes the desk look much cleaner and I have freed up a bunch of space by removing my bulky stand. It;s a very premium looking accessory at a very reasonable price.
