Very informative and basic book that covers the fundamentals with adequate explanation with real-life diagrams and application of the tools on the charts. Would give 5 stars but the book came with a bit of defects such as pages stuck together and the binding of the book isn’t that smooth so I had to do some minor adjustments to hold the book together. Overall a very informative book.
My advice: don't bother with the smaller cheaper books if you're going to get this in the end. It's the proverbial dog's gametes. Just get this. Also get the hardcover, these books with constant diagrams will drive you mad on Kindle. Learnt the hard way, there...
I work with Security Valuation in both a professional and academic capacity, and there is no literature published that is more comprehensive and informative of Technical Analysis than this. You may find more detail elsewhere if there is a specific charting method you’re interested in, but for a complete practical guide on the subject, look no further. If you’re not sold on the idea of TA, you may want to look elsewhere. There is some discussion in the foreword on the “proof” of TA’s efficacy, but it is purely theoretical in nature, and makes no reference to empirical evidence. This book is purely informative and has very little in the way of justification for the theory, so try to approach it practically, not scientifically. Those interested in financial charting: this has to be on your shelf. Enough said.
Very well written and easy to read/absorb, great source of information and knowledge that applies to all the markets. In short, this is a solid buy for anyone looking to advance their understanding of technical analysis. I recommend digesting at least one chapter a day, then when finished, go back to the start and read it again. Keep doing that and you'll definitely have an advantage over people who are 'winging it'. All in all, zero regrets in buying it and consider it a solid investment.
i think the author wrote the book in a very easy and engaging way considering the subject matter. I'm no financial wizard but i can easily understand the way he explains the concepts and makes them very real and practical. He obviously knows his stuff. I'd thoroughly recommend the book to anyone interested in learning more about the subject
Unlike "Technical Analysis: The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians" by Kirkpatrick II and Charles D, this book provide a more practical knowledge about what is technical analysis and how to apply it in real stock or future markets without dwelling too much on history or terminology aspects of technical analysis itself
Absolutely fantastic book, the depth of detail and subject analysis is amazing. This really is the bible of technical analysis and deserves to be on the shelf of anybody looking to trade. Highly recommended. Don't hesitate to purchase if you are looking to learn about technical analysis from the ground up.
This book is always at my bedside, i read it before going to bed and after waking up.. of all the books i have been through this one trully explains the essence of the technical analysis applicable to most financial markets. The chapters cover every detail of all the questions i had, it is written in an amazingly easy to understand manner, there is a good section about top-down market analysis for equities and decent explanation about the links between bonds, commodities , stocks, to wrap it up, anyone who is a beginner like me, should look no further, this is THE BOOK!!
