I've used this product for years and really liked it so I didn't hesitate to order it. I don't know if I just got a bad batch, if the dispensersor has been changed or if BIC's QC department isn't as good as it once was.
So far I've tried 3 of the of the dispensers and all of them gave me problems. The tape doesn't want to move in the dispenser, so it won't roll onto the paper. It runs off the track, or tape breaks as it's being applied and I have to apply more. Once the tape is on the paper, it's very difficult to try and remove. By the time the error is corrected, I'm left with a blob of correction tape on the paper. It's bad enough that I would never use that page except for my personal use.
The tape will get off the track and have to be put back between the plastic sides. Or it would leave a thin pinstripe on the paper. It all of a sudden will work like it's supposed to, but for how long?
I thought maybe I was pressing too hard or not hard enough, so I tried both less and more pressure. Not enough pressure and the tape doesn't move. If I pressed really hard, sometimes it worked other times it jammed.
As, usual (for me) it's working now. It just had to make a liar out if me. But, it's been so frustrating that I'm really disappointed and I won't be buying this product again.
The first one out of the box was trash. The tape was not exposed so it was basically useless. There's no winder to load up the tape or any way to access the tape if it's not wound around the tip. So in the trash it went. The next one worked for a few uses and then somehow it got unwound from the tip and, same scenario; couldn't wind it back out over the tip. So into the trash it went. Third one was the same issue as the first; no tape exposed. Into the trash it went. Finally, the fourth dispenser has seemed to finally work. What a waste.
BIC Wite-Out Brand EZ Correct Correction Tape, White, 10-Count
PROS: Works well. Easy to use.
CONS: One of the correction tape dispensers was defective right out of the box. The tape just kept rolling out. There was no adjustment screw on the side to reel the tape back in. So I paid the price for 10 but got 9.
I can't believe I bought a whole box of these Bic correction tapes. They are not like the old version of correction tape. These tapes are held on the side as you correct. I should say as you try to correct. I have tried three of these correction tapes and can't get any to work so they are going in the trash. Lesson learned.
We buy these for our offices at school and while an individual person may take the care necessary to go slow enough to make sure that the used strip gets wound back into the device, many students will borrow it and totally ruin the whole thing. I feel like it should and could be better designed with a careless student in mind as I have had to throw away several.
These do not work great. You have to use them a certain way to get them to work. Will not overlap itself, & there is no way to roll the tape back in. It covers nicely, but I ruined 2 just trying to get the thing figured out. Lol.
