I have always liked the quality of the Brother laminated tapes. They print clearly on the tape and they adhere well to almost any surface. My only objection is that the tape printer leaves too much space on either end that I usually trim before application. However, these tapes peel from the center instead of from the ends as in the past. Therefore, it is much easier to peel the backing at any length. One word of caution is, while peeling, make sure you place your fingers under both ends so that the sticky part temporarily adheres to your fingers. Otherwise, the tape will curl up and form a circle with the ends stuck to each other.
Originally purchased an off brand clone equivalent at 1/3 the price but was disappointed with the white not being very white. Decided to try real Brother brand product, but the white was identical to the clone; more of a light grey (almost silver looking) in color. The included picture shows the difference but the difference is more pronounced in real life.
I like the white on black, makes it easier to read from a distance. I used it to label my spice jars, and it was pretty flexible bending across some weirdly shaped areas on the lids, and has stayed stuck on so far and looking good. My only issue with the brother system is that there is a lot of extra tape between where it cuts and where the letters are printed, so you have to go back and trim it, wasting tape. Overall a good product though.
The TZe labels only work on the PT-200D Labeler .. won't interchange with the PT-1180. BUT you can get 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" high Tze Tapes. Which makes it handy to make just the right size label. BUT, You'll probably end up with $100 in Label Inventory :-)
