To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I ordered this pot because I needed a 1 1/2 quart saucepan. The spout and colander aspect was interesting. I ignored the reviews that said the cover wasn't tight enough. I should have paid attention. The pot itself is good. I like the quantity indicators. The shape and height is also good. The cover is too small and doesn't fit tight which defeats the purpose of the spouts. I'm going to keep the pot but I don't recommend buying one until the cover manufacture is adjusted to fit properly.
The pour spout and strainer on the lid is great. Whoever designed the lid handle, and the pot handle chose style over utility. I don't like hot handles. I prefer Calphalon SELECT for this very reason. Handle designe on SELECT is superior. While these pan claim to be dishwasher safe, my first one out of three lost its non-stick coating within the first six months. I have purchased two more 1.5 Qt. pans, but am over causious to only use silicone spoons . . . . and to hand wash after each use. Better safe than sorry, at the price.
The pot generally meets my needs, but the lid doesn’t make a tight seal because of the tapered silicone lip on the lid, coupled with the pour spout on the pot. The poor lid fit significantly diminishes the value.
This pan was great the first time I used it. By second use, the pan was already warped. I have an induction stove, but this shouldn't have happened. I still use it because I don't want to throw it away - it was very costly. I still use it for sauces.
It was not what I received. The lid to the pan that I received did not match here in the picture. The lid did not match my set of pot and pans that I have of the Calphalon Easy System Nonstick Pan Set.
First I must say, 5 STARS for shipping and handling. Received much quicker than estimated. That said, Advertised as: "Product Dimensions 23 x 15 x 5 inches" this is false. That might be the size of the box it comes in. The pan is only 12 inches across and barely 2 1/2 inches deep. I would have preferred a larger pan, maybe 5 inches deep as advertised. I purchased this to replace a 14" fry pan, basically the same volume. Quality of pan seems okay, limited lifetime guarantee. The lid steams up while cooking so you can't through it, may well have been a metal lid. My suggestion would be to look for a 6 or 7 quart pan if looking to cook for 5 or more people.
