I use this for so many things. I live by myself, so no need for large pots and pans. This pot is a miracle worker. Now if you want something that “ABSOLUTELY” NOT stick, this is it. I pot a huge one for my soups and chili and spaghetti sauces that I like making in large quantities and freeze. It’s worth every penny and more. Enjoy!
I've been a Calphalon fan for fifteen years now and this is the most utilitarian piece I've ever bought. - The vents/strainers in the lid are genius, especially since I've converted to the skillet method for cooking pasta ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM3BRa3ajlo ). - It is impossible to get anything stuck. Seriously. Impossible. - This pan is huge and the deep sides are perfect for braising, sauteing, making large batches of sauce, and tossing pasta with sauce. - You can make pizza on the stovetop using only this pan -- no other dirty mixing bowls or anything. Yes, I've tried it, and even my kids ate it. Bam. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgpjCOFVK4s )
My only complaint is that the silicone edge on the lid does absorb some smells -- but it's not nearly as bad as the seal on my crock pot lid, so I'm not really bothered by it.
This pan was a little expensive but it's a wonderful pan. I use it all the time. It's the size I needed, easy cleanup, and can drain things in the pan without dragging a colander out. I love it so much I'm now looking at the next size up.
I use this for many smaller cooking needs. The pour spouts and the lid with matching openings are so handy I wonder why they don't all come this way. I was able to drain the water off vegetables without having to use the strainer I usually use. Not cheap, but not cheaply made either. Recommended.
I love it! I am able to cook six chicken breasts at a time with enough room to make turning them easy. I can make my large recipe for spaghetti sauce without spilling. Cooks evenly, and non stick is great. Just wish I had a bigger burner on my stove now, but luckily the pan distributes the heat evenly enough that I can get by. The lid is nice, but doesn't seal off the pan like my other pots and pans. However, it hasn't affected any of my recipes adversely.
Perfect for noodles of all types. The non-stick coating it really good so if you forget to clean your bowl you don’t have to scrub your pan forever trying to get noodles off. And a built in strainer! Woot!
I needed something to heat up bone broth for sipping and to pour into my hydroflask. My other sauce pan without a lip failed miserably in pouring, even with a funnel! This Calphalon fit the bill, and the quality is excellent.
