So overall the quality is decent and solid, the joints are bit hard to rotate or move but are accatable. My main issue with this mount is that it will bring your monitor so much farwars if you decide to show the stand right in the middle of the monitor, so I solved my issue by bringing it aside a bit, but my purpose for buying this item is to make my setup clean and neat, also having their logo right on the mount at the bottom was also something that distracts the clean setup, I hope Vivo can actually consider those small details in their next version of this mount. Overall I’m not saying its a bad mount, but it did not satisfy my exact needs
I ordered 2 of these they seem like great value for the money and one of them is. I bought 2 of them to hold up 2 24" displays. One of the poles stands up straight and perfect. The 2nd one no matter how much a tighten it seems to always be some what loose causing it to dip to the left (the side with the weight).
Poor craftsmanship on a few key areas. First of all, let me say that I have the twin arm monitor mount by Vivo and it has been perfect for years, so I felt that this single arm by the same company would be just as good, but that was not the case. Unlike the dual, this single's main post connects to the base. A small pin on the base sticking up to hold the vertical arm in place was not completely flush with the base plate and this meant that no matter how much you tighten the huge bolt connecting the arm to the plate, it won't sit flat which completely destabilizes the rigidity. Next, the clamping bolt pad of the c-clamp on this model is oblong, not circular and kept catching on the rotation, so it was a pain to turn. Those two major flaws were enough for me to return it. After scrutinizing other mounts more carefully, I would opt for the Mount-It! MI-751, whose arm is welded to the base plate, plus the clamping bolt pad is circular so it won't catch while tightening. The details matter, and for the $10 extra, it's worth it.
Vivo, you had it right the first time on your dual model, but this single one doesn't even come close to that quality.
i would have given it more stars if I coulld have figured out how to assemble it. The instal documentation is terrible and I am angry that anyone can put out such poor diagrams. it seems the quest to poduce universal manuals that do not require the understanding of any particular language or that could be understood by a martian or any alien life out there that recieves wi-fi, do not allow any helpful install comments in english.
This monitor arm has truthfully served me extremely well, and it’s a great monitor arm. But I’m a bit upset that it ended up damaging my 250 dollar desk... The desk isn’t perfect that’s for sure, and I’ve had the arm stuck in that spot for 4 years. But when I went to take it off to adjust it, or possibly buy another arm. The rubber pads on the bottom, were stuck to my desk and ripped off the finish. I guess something to be aware of with this arm. Overall I do think the rubber pads could be a bit less sticky, as well as cover more surface area. That may help this product. I’m not sure. Though I would say putting something under it, changing the pads, or simply buying a better desk that doesn’t have a fake finish like mine (I didn’t know) are some other solutions. As for me, I think I might be stuck with this arm (in the same spot) until I can buy a new desk. Either that or I cover the whole tabletop in vinyl paper.
Unfortunately my product arrived with poor threading resulting in the product being impossible to assemble. Looking through the reviews I now see there is poor quality control with the company and can confirm through my own experience.
I will be returning this and finding a better alternative.
Edit: while installing my replacement, the threading had an issue on one of the middle joints. The solution I applied was to take the correctly threaded one from my return and replace it so that I had a fully working stand. I'll move my review up to 2 stars for how easy the return was and the quick shipping. Product works as intended - if you are putting on a large monitor, get a friend to help you!
