I bought these candles from the same supplier as the luminaria holders. So one would expect them to work well. Rather than the way most candles are made where the wick is embedded in the wax, these were made by drilling a hole through the wax and threading the wick through. As a result there was no wax holding the wick in place. We put out 56 luminarias and fully 40% of the wicks fell out, a number of them as soon as we lifted them from the box. We had to get other candles to complete the display. We also found this morning that one of the candles had melted a hole right through the holder. Very disappointing.
Did not burn or light. 22 tables, 180 guests, evening wedding. 5-7 were placed with the centerpieces. They did not light, they did not burn. If they by chance did light, they burned out within five minutes. I would like to send these back so they can analyze why they didn't light. We had dark tables. Not a thing we could do about it. I would not buy. I bought because of the ten hour window of staying lit/on/burning. 90% did not even light. I would love the opportunity for the seller or manufacturer to reach out to me to discuss a refund and return. Wedding room could have looked a lot more elegant if the candles would have functioned. Is it that hard to ask a candle to burn?
The candles arrived in horrible condition. Most of them have sections missing. They are cheap & falling apart. I took one out to place it on a holder thinking maybe it wouldn’t be so bad once they were in holders, I mean you’re just going to burn it anyway, but it just crumbled into pieces. Also, as you can see in the video the “white” color was actually a cream. I am using these for a wedding I needed a true white color
I've ordered this 72-count unscented white votives five times and loved them. These "Light the Dark" vendor's pack is crap. 10-hour burn is nonsense. In a standard glass votive holder, they burn down and drown themselves in a couple of hours and then are impossible to remove from the glass holder for re-use. The votives I've purchased before ("Buy again" option on Amazon) would burn for at least eight hours and after allowing them to cool overnight, the remaining wax at the bottom of the glass could be popped out cleanlywith a knife edge, the glass cleaned for re-use. The "same" 72-pack I purchased a few weeks ago is an utter waste of money.
I bought these hoping that they would burn clean and stay lit on their own in the votive holders. Out of the first ten that I used only two burned without my having to dig the wick out of cold wax and relight it, several times. It completely ruined the ambiance that I was trying to maintain. If they don't stay lit I have no use for them. I don't know if the wick is extremely cheap or the mix of the wax is so far off that it can't maintain the burn. But I will NOT be buying these votive candles again.
I placed the candle in a glass votive and lit 7 candles. Within an hour, they started to go out, one at a time. Within two hours 5 of the 7 candles extinguished themselves. When I looked in the votive to see what happened, it appeared that the VERY THIN wicks were bent over and the wicks were sitting in wax and were extinguished because they did not remail upright while burning. It is clear that these wicks were responsible for the failure because they were not strong enough.
They say these votive candles burn for up to ten hours. Ummm.. in what world? I burned mine for 3hrs, no draft, they were 80% gone. I would say these may burn for 4 hours tops, definitely not a super long burning candle. The price was decent for the quantity I purchased, but that probably it's best perk. Shame, they arent close to what the post states. I was a bit sceptical, as I should've been.
I received these candles - with several broken in half (shipping?) and many of them losing their wick upon lighting them and lifting to place them. Not at all pleased with them - but we needed them for our luminaries on Christmas Eve and had to go with what we had. Can't return them as they're burned down. 'wouldn't recommend.
They burn 3 hours at most, when they burn, because the wicks are so thin they burn off in a few minutes, and you have to light it again--IF you can. Some of the candles have split in half. The wax is not normal--it's powdery, grainy, makes a big mess and breaks. The box the candles came in was ripped in several places, releasing all that white powder everywhere. Extremely disappointed. I'm returning this item.
