The sealant tape was exactly as described. I wrapped the threads as described in a few youtube videos, and away I went. To be clear, if you've never done it before, it can take a bit of effort to get the threads started, and indeed, the sealant makes it difficult to turn. That's kind of the point, to make a tight seal. That all said, I replaced my shower arm with a gooseneck and the head with a rainfall showerhead and neither leak after a week.

Full disclosure, I am not a plumber and I have never used this tape for any plumping-related applications. Frankly, I bought this tape to stretch my earlobes, and in this pursuit it has excelled. The tape sticks only to itself, appears to be water-tight, and generally seems to have very little intention of moving from whence it is placed unless properly motivated. The price is reasonable, especially for what I understand to be a small business, and I received it faster than anticipated. All around very pleased with the purchase.

The quantity in this tape is way more than I need as I'm no plumber. I used it when changing a shower head. The tape comes off the reel easily, and does the job. Wrapping the threaded part of the pipe was a piece of cake - easy to wrap and it had just the right stretch to fit tightly and neatly. The rest of the reel is now in my tool box waiting for the next use which I hope will not be for a while. But at least if the need comes up, I'll be ready.

Best PTFE tape I've used in many years!

I regularly use tape for all my plumbing work and any (and all) gas work. I bought and tried several rolls of this Vanguard Tape and it is the best PTFE tape I've used in many years.

This tape is very high quality and it very competitively priced. The tape works better and feels thicker than any other tapes I've been using recently. This tape is way better quality and price than any of the cheap PTFE tape I've found in a "Big Box" store. Also, I found out that this tape is designed and quality tested here in the USA(!!), which I like a LOT! If you get more tape and better (tested) quality for the price - why would you use another brand of untested tape?
