Look great, fit well and easy to install. It solved my problem of one side of joycon not locking very tight on handheld mode.
However, the material feel weak, brittle and slippery. Now I feel like I need to handle the switch with even more care than before. For an officially licensed case that is more expensive than other options, I'm a bit disappointed.
This product looks nice and maybe is good in concept, but it literally took almost 3 months to arrive. The hinges are creaking and the plastic seems like it would snap very easily. Also this case provides no grip whatsoever. If they would have added gummy hand grips and made it a little more solid and removed that silly fake screen protector then I would say maybe buy it. The only reason I don’t give it a 1 star is because I just think I very much enjoy this design, IN CONCEPT.
Came really quick in new, packaged condition. Looks great, allows better grip and supports the dpads by encasing them in place. All ports are available, screen lifts for cleaning touch screen, works with joystick pads. Love it!
I was unsure before purchasing this because it didn't seem to have good reviews. That being said, this case is perfect! One review complained about how it does not fit the HORI joy-con controllers, however, the listing never claimed it did. The case fits so well on the Switch and it even fits with my tempered glass screen protector. If you have put on any analog caps on the joy cons, you will have to take them off when installing the case and/or when you take it off. The case has a screen protection area, and you can flip it open without taking the case off the clean the screen. The only thing that may be annoying is that you have to take it off to remove the joy-con controller or to use it with a TV, however, if you're like me and use it mainly handheld, this case is ideal. The case makes the Switch feel very sturdy and I think this is better than the grips they offer. I also have a Zelda skin already on my Switch and I love how you can still see it through this case.
My rating: 9/10
Pros: -feels sturdier -it fits perfectly on the switch -the case is beautiful -easy accessibility to clean the screen -must have for Legend of Zelda fans -can keep a screen protector on underneath
Cons: -it you detach the joy-cons often or use it on the TV then it can be tiresome to take on and off
If you have the hori dpad, this case will barely fit that joycon, I got it but it was a pain to get the case on, even with a regular joycon but worse with there dpad joycon.
Its great looking, it has grips, its just due to the fact that its hard plastic, it starts becoming uncomfortable to hold after awhile.
You would think Hori would make a Zelda case that is compatible with there own dpad joycon but no, its not, this was a pain to put on, just a pain and overpriced.
the front looks great Protects the switch very well without needing an actual case
Pain to put on Doesnt work with the hori dpad joycon, you really have to force it. Grips are uncomfortable after awhile
If people wanna buy it, its up to them, I got it for the zelda design but meh, thats all i have to say, atleast Astro put effort into there Zelda themed headset, it maybe there A10s but painted Zelda themed, looks better than the COD headsets and are comfy, this Zelda case is basically last years Zelda joycons protectors made by Hori but with a bit more grip, covers the whole switch, not just joycons and is gold instead of white or silver.
Revising my review, after taking it off and putting it back on after awhile, the clips that keep it together, start not clipping and no matter how hard you push it in, it wont clip, I remember when Hori made quality products but this isnt quality by any means, it is just not good, I wanted it cause it was a Zelda grip case but Im better off using the Skull n co grip case, it may be TPU but atleast the grip part doesnt claw into your hand and the Skull N co gripcase is grippy and way more comfy due to the soft material, also protects the switch and fits it.
This Zelda gripcase is crap but if people wanna still buy it, its on them but 25 dollars for this, is overpriced, especially since its a pain to put on and take off.
I would suggest either Skull n Co grip or satisfy if you want an actual good grip type case, plus if the screen itself has tempered glass, you don't really need something like the Zelda case, especially since it's not grippy unless you love the Zelda look so much, you don't mind the uncomfortable grip.
This case covers every square inch of your Nintendo Switch and is fully functional with game play. My girlfriend has this case and I am now purchasing one because even the cases with the shock resistance (which people seem to love for whatever reason which I'll not ever understand for the fact I am going to explain with the ongoing sentence) doesn't cover the front part of the switch. Like who wants a PROTECTIVE CASE THAT DOESNT PROTECT THE MAIN PARTS YOU USE? I ASK WHO? I mad so mad that I cant find another case like this Zelda case because now I am going to have the same one as my girlfriend. Dude this thing even comes with a screen protector! Its not even a downfall that it doesn't fit in the dock if you not lazy or even if you are because it is super simple to take off plus the fact remains when it is in the down it is like a regular console by itself like the Xbox One or PS4...and do you need a protective case for the when they are plugged in? no you do not if you take care of your belongings. another thing is this may have the joycons not simply abled to be removed, yet the fact remain that you can still take them out like you would the switch from your backpack or travel case...and to add they make mini snes size controllers for like $15-$30 that you can put in your pocket and use for your phone and pc called 8bitdo. 8bitdo is an amazing company to buy from because they deliver the classic feel and will enhance your gameplay as well for online games too! If you read all of my rant thank you and I love you because I am super aggravated that companies hasn't seen what I have been able to explain to all of those who read this. Thanks again for reading my review on this product.
