Old Pencils

So, normally I would write a good review about this product because it's been around since I was a kid and I used it daily in the early 90s- It stayed on for so long and smudging was to a minimum if any- It was always very hard to get off at the end of the day- I needed a very strong make up remover to do so- Since then, I would imagine with the advancement of technology that the pencil quality and efficiently would have only gotten better, right? Well, these pencils were terrible- The inventory must be really old because the pencils were not sharpened at the tip (the newer ones are), and the push-up function seems like the one from back in the day (I have newer eye liner pencils from Revlon like this that are sharpened at the tip when they come up out of the container-- how can you get a nice smooth line on your eye without that being the case)- I bought two of these as a backup and both of them have broken when I push them up within the first few usages (this could also explain why the price is so low compared to in store purchase)- They also don't produce color when I try to line the inner part of my eyes (I have to go over several times to see anything) and that's one thing I recall this pencil doing very well back in the day- Simply put, this merchant is clearly selling old stock and the pencils are dried up and brittle- I would not recommend this particular merchant for that reason, however the pencil itself is bomb for a pharmacy bought eye liner- Very disappointed in this purchase and will not buy from here again-

I was very disappointed with this eyeliner. When I put it on my upper lid, it clumped up. Also, it left tiny little black pieces around my eyes! It went on, very smooth, but very light. I had to go over it again and that’s when the problem started.

I bought three shades of this eyeliner: Jade, Black Violet, and Sapphire. I am sick of black eyeliner and wanted to mix it up for summer. My brown eyes actually look really good with green liner and shadow so that was the one I tried first. These are all very dark, more like black with some color mixed in, but that is OK with me. The green was visible but not in your face green. The pencil is nice. It has a retractable tip and a smudger at the end. The liner glides on smoothly.

I wore the green out for the day and, when I got home about six hours later, it was gone. It disappeared! Thinking it was just the heat, I tested the Black Violet the next day. That one is super dark and the purple is not very visible. I am going to buy a true purple shade. Anyway, the same thing happened. The liner went on smoothly and looked nice but it faded away as the day wore on. I didn't rub my eyes or mess with them in any way nor did I get my face wet, The eyeliner didn't smudge. It just faded away.

The Sapphire is a pretty shade and the color showed up nicely. This one stayed on a bit longer than the others but it faded enough to be noticeable. Usually Revlon ColorStay actually DOES stay (Their long wear lip gloss is great!) but these liners didn't for me. I will wear them since I paid for them and have them but I am disappointed in wear time. Obviously they're not waterproof. The shades are nice and they are creamy but, after four or five hours, expect these to fade unless I just got a bad batch!. if I bought these at a local store, I would return them but since it is such a hassle to do so on Amazon with mailing them back, I will just not buy this brand of eyeliner again.

Revlon eyeliner was my "go to" when I ran out of my Lancome because it goes on smoothly and doesn't give me "raccoon eyes". Only problem here was it only lasted 2 weeks, whereas my other brands last for months! So for me, this was not a good deal. Perhaps Revlon, (as are many companies now), is "shrinking" their products?
