I've had a Waterpik Showerhead for many years - it still works good but the corrosion where the water sprays out is getting out of hand, so I thought I'd replace it. I connected the new one, turned the water on and after about 15 seconds, the water stopped, the water pipes started screaming and violently shaking so bad I could hear / feel them shaking inside the wall. That scared me to death - I thought the pipes were going to explode. I wondered what the "white" thing was that was inside the part that connects to the water pipe and plugs the space where the water is supposed to go through, so I watched a video > apparently there's a plug inside that decreases the water flow, so after watching the video, I followed his instruction and removed it, then put it back together as he did, including the "white" plug even though I couldn't understand how the water was supposed to get through the hose with that thing plugging the hole. I reconnected it, turned on the water and after about 15 seconds, the SAME thing happened AGAIN. Thank God I didn't trash my old one that has since been reinstalled. I live in a high-rise apt. building, so I have no control over the water / pipes. If anyone can tell me what I can do to fix this, I'd be truly grateful.
I love a strong powerful showerhead, i know it's not very earth friendly. but i can't use the earth friendly units, they are just so unsatisfying, i never feel clean, I bought this to replace an old Waterpik twin turbo, i tried to find another one, but no luck. So i settled for this one. I have to say it's pretty good, i had to remove all the pressure limiters in the valve to achieve the proper pressure i was used to with he twin turbo, but once everything was removed and the water flowed freely, this new shower head became very good. Out of the box it was weak, very little pressure except in the massage mode. now after those parts were removed, it's super powerful, love it, i don't miss my twin turbo anymore.
Moved into a brand new condo building, and all the fittings they used throughout were of the water saving variety. I can appreciate water conservancy, buuuut…Living in the PNW we are basically in a rainforest. We can afford to splurge a little on some shower pressure. So, I set out swap the fittings for something that will improve the old shower experience, and oh boy did this deliver!!! The pressure is markedly improved over stock. Cycling through the settings is easy, simply no complaints there. It’s light and easy to use, works really well. Usually I have some constructive criticism, but not in this case. 5/5…recommend.
For the price this is a good shower head. I previously had a shower head that I bought from a discount store that started leaking from the body of the unit head. I did not like the feeling of cold mist while taking a warm shower so the search was on for a replacement. I looked around and set a max budget of $80. I looked at Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart and none of them had what I wanted in the price range I was looking for. I was this on Amazon for 55.99. I will list the pros and cons.
1. It is Watertpik and they have never disappointed me with the function and reliability of that brand. 2. The neck attachment is rubber and keeps the head water tight. 3. The instructions are straight forward. 4. There are 7 different settings and they all feel different. 5. It is not loud, when rinsing the shower curtain after a shower this cleans it, wIthout that sound of rain hitting plastic. 6. The cord is 5 feet long 7. The weight feels substantial alluding to high quality components.
Cons 1. The pressure seems to be a little less than specified but maybe I am just using the wrong setting.
Just received this showerhead and we can say it does the work. The reasons I am not fully satisfied are:
a) The main complain is a design flaw: No guide in the support handle to keep the shower head in its natural straight position. The plastic pipe has enough force to rotate the showerhead laterally when placed in the support. Recommendation: use care when installing, to set head in a straight position.
b) Plastic materials everywhere. That somehow was expected. Hose is a bit on the short side and the plastic material is too strong. You have to find the right balance when installing straight. At installation it requires Teflon tape.
c) The water flow is good enough. One important remark is that the default factory position of the handle is on "water massage". You have to make sure that all the pipes in your house are clamped well all along, or you would hear a horrible resonance when used in this mode. It is not the fault of the designer. It is probably recommended to change the default factory position, not to scare customers.
The settings are as described and the water flow is good enough. It works well otherwise. You will not feel cold under this shower because it is too economic on water, 2.5gpm is not bad flow. There is a water filter in the support you can take out if you do not like the flow. Very easy to do that. I kept this filter.
If just the first design flaw at a) would be fixed in the future I would probably buy this product again. For now it is just a keep.
Very cheap plastic construction. The part that holds the shower handle is really stiff hard plastic. It isn't the easiest to get the handle free. Water pressure is great. Settings are pretty great. Installation couldn't be easier! Took seconds! I'm not sure you can do better around this price point. This is probably your best bet. That being said, I don't know how confident I am in the longevity of this shower head, but I've been surprised before. Our last waterpik lasted decades. Time will tell!
This is the second Waterpik hand held shower head that we own. I purchased the same model about 3 years ago and both my husband and I love it. We didn't think we would use all the settings but we do! There is one that is a very forceful pulse that really works well on our sore tired muscles, there is one that takes out all the shampoo and conditioner from my very long hair and the one that surprised me the most was the mist, I never thought I would use it but it is so relaxing it feels like your in a rain forest. We are buying this one as we are moving soon and it will be installing in our new home on day 1.
I've been looking for a replacement for the awesome NSC-659, and tried quite a few shower heads, including the close-but-not-quite DSL-653. This one is it. Decent spray modes (although I'm still missing a cone jet), comparable bulk and a very impressive amount of pressure. I've honestly never had a shower deliver that much pressure, and I've used many. Coverage is good, flow is excellent, feels nice. Very happy with it, I bought a second one as backup.
This was very simple to install. Only needed tools to remove old shower head and to clean oipe tape off the threads. New head is installed finger tight only and pipe tape is not recommemded for the installation. The selector may be a bit too easy to move as just bumping the lever while holding the shower head in hand will change the pulse. Overall extrenely pleased with this item. Waterpik has always made a quality product IMO.
My pet peeve is no pressure showers -this didn’t disappoint. There’s plenty of pressure. It was easy to install. I didn’t even change the hose. I screwed it into my old hose and it was good to go. Didn’t require tape or tools. I have a “fancy” rail so I also didn’t use the part that holds the nozzle. It is pretty flat so it hits the back wall pretty hard. But I’m pretty happy with it for the price and taking a risk for buying online.
