really don’t like the fact that it is all plastic. I would not have bought it had I realized how cheap and tacky is this shower head. Waterpik used to be a good brand....not anymore! As to the installation: you must use plumbers tape on ALL joints. Even though the direction state clearly not to use it. It leaks like mad if you don’t. You cannot hand tighten it enough to make a seal without it. Also, you need to use a crescent wrench to tighten all nuts, outherwise it leaks. Use a cloth between the wrench head and the nut because it, the shower head is plastic , it will mark and scratch like mad. This is a truly crummy product. I did installed this without leaking or sctaching but you must be very careful how you install this. Not for the inexperienced. And it’s such a cheap product hiring a professional to install would be a waste of money. I will buy a metal, chrome head and hose at the hardware store when this cheap piece of junk gives out.
This stuff is difficult to work with as it is so thin that when you pull it over threads it shreds more often than goes completely around whatever you are installing. Was working with some 1/2" pipe threads on irrigation popups and it took three or more tries to get the fittings covered. Can't complain about the quantity, but you will need a bunch of it to get the threads covered eventually.
This product was intuitive to use and works well. I recently replaced the regulator on my airbrush, and the new parts weren't forming a good seal. I didn't need to finish a single roll of this tape, and I patched all of my leaks easily. I don't really know what to do with all the extras though.
CHEAP<,CHEAP all the way around the first roll I could not find the start point and wasted at least 1/2 of the roll. The second roll worked but the thickness of this product means you are doing 2 wraps for a normal roll of one wrap. Oh and the CHEAP blue plastic center core is bendable plastic. At some point QUAILTY Control should reject this item.
Who would imagine an tape that had some body to it and was pliable enough to use on fittings for this price? I use teflon tape for many different types of fittings and sometimes other fasteners as a substitute for retaining adhesives. On initial ordering I was sceptical, but surpirsed at first use. Good quality for a fair price.
I thought I was getting a bargain on the 3 mil pink PTFE tape, but this stuff is thinner that the white plumbers tape. Sure, it works, but its super thin and semi-transparent. Not the bargain I was hoping for. Back to spending $21 on a 10-pack of the good stuff.
