It took a couple tries to figure out the proper way it was supposed to go on since it didn’t have instructions how to put it together & on. There’s little smelly things you can replace fairly easily. The water pressure is so strong that you’ll go a little numb from being under it too long — also it makes the shower curtain lift up into the shower from the pressure being so strong (the old shower head was not nearly as strong with with water pressure as this one). Not good for people with sensitive skin or for *delicate* body parts (painful)
i didn't notice a huge difference in water hardness with this product. slight improvement at best even with consistent filter and bead replacements. it also started to leak within 6 months. not sure i recommend, this is definitely a "get what you pay for" situation.
The problem is it does what it says, BUT... First the positive: this product literally cured my winter itch. Once I began using it, the itch that I has suffered for years, particularly in the cold months, just went away. It was wonderful! HOWEVER, that joy came with a price, two specific problems: (1) The water was like needles, no matter the volume of the water that I used, the spray from this shower head was painful--and not good painful, bad painful. (2) because of the fineness of the spray, the water on the outer edges was completely cold, not matter the temperature of the water feeding into the spray head, so to get into a warm shower, you have to pass through a completely cold shower, then try to get yourself warmed up. This was thoroughly unpleasant, particularly coupled with the painful spray. It finally go to the point that I dreaded showers. So finally, I gave up an replace this shower head with a combination water softener/filter and rain head. I am enjoying my showers so much more now. If this company should ever modify the shower head to reduce the needle-like spray or perhaps provide a multiple-spray option, I would be first in line to get one. Until that time... no!
Pros: - Easy to install - Scents are wonderful - Noticeable difference in skin and hair quality. Skin and hair is so much softer and feels wonderful. Noticeable after 1-2 showers - Higher water pressure, meaning shorter showers
Cons: - Parts seem to be a cheaper quality. Which isn't a huge deal as they work nonetheless. If you have any issue with parts, you could simply go to your local hardware store and buy higher quality replacement parts. - The water pressure is not adjustable. Not only that but its a bit on the strong side. Which can be either good or bad depending on your preference. It can be quite overwhelming not being able to reduce the pressure to use soap/shampoo/conditioner, etc. The higher water pressure, assuming you shower in a shower/tub, leads to the tub filling with water quickly. Because of this, I have to turn the water off while using soap, shampoo, conditioner, and to drain the water a few times during my shower.
Overall: The science behind it works 100% and is for the most part enjoyable with the scents and quality hair/skin I have now. But with the lower quality parts and the inability to adjust the water pressure, the $35 is debatable. Perhaps more like $20-$25.
I live in Port St. Lucie Fl. for the record. My house is on city water and what they give us is lousy.
Let me suggest for those that had or are having problems removing the filter. Get some silicone lube from the pool store and put a little dab on the threads and gasket, No problems again other than it's a bit hard to grip.
Here's where I'm not so sure, I have Aquachek test strips and checked the water coming from my tap and then from the shower head. Total Chlorine was the same on both @ 2.0 PPM. (PPM is Parts Per Million) That tells me it's removing none or little enough to measure.
The important test was actually using it. I have for about a week and really like it. My skin feels better and my hair has improved 100%. My scalp isn't itchy anymore and no soap residue is left.
I'm a former water tech and plumber.
BTW My test also included my Reverse Osmosis drinking water system. 0 Total Chlorine.
I also tested the PPM totals with my meter. Tap came in at 360ppm, Showerhead at 365ppm and RO at 65ppm.
Time will tell how long between filter changes. I live alone so for me it's worth it.
Pay no attention to my star rating about softness. I just don't know. My test strips were off the color chart equally from all three sources. Maybe they're no good? The water sure feels soft. Make that four sources, I just checked my well with the same results. I think that strip is no good.
Bought this while trying to find a solution to hard well water without paying big money for a whole house filter. This is a pretty nice addition to up the softness of your water, but it may not work for you if your water is super mineral heavy. We have a lot of iron in our water and you can tell from the picture that even with following the recommended filter change guidelines that a lot still gets through to the head (that orange plastic should be clear!!). I will say my skin felt less gunky or like there was a film over it when I got out the shower. My acne also fared better while using this shower head.
After a year and a half with this shower head, it gave out on me! The collar around the head cracked under the pressure. I don't blame the manufacturing at all. I purposely put the plate with the holes in it so that the big holes were out rather than the correct way around. My sensitive skin did not like the pin-prick pressure of the small side, so that was my solution and it served me well until tonight in the middle of my shower!! All in all, this product served me well for the time I had it, but I believe I will be upgrading to something different.
I thought I was buying the tik tok famous shower head and this one is close but not it. The shower head is smaller and it doesn't have the 3 modes of rain fall, massage or shower. This only has the one shower head with no adjustment to the water sprayer. My fault for not looking closer before buying. The cool thing this one has is a filter, I only used the lemon one so far and it smells nice making the bathroom smell clean. It came with different ones too. The bad thing about it, it has great water pressure because it literally drains your hot water heater SO fast. I have to turn the water half way on to keep from running out of hot water. My husband loves it because he only takes 10 min showers so it's perfect for him. One side note to mention is I saw a lot of reviews of it not sitting in the holder well.....But all of those have the nut at the base where the shower head attaches, that end needs to be attached to the water spout instead. It's just backwards. One end has it and one end doesn't so it just needs to be reversed if that makes sense. Overall I'm happy with it.
The water is softer. Not as soft as I thought it would be but better than nothing. I’ll be honest I haven’t really noticed any of the scent from the aroma block and the water pressure is so hard from this shower head that it covers my entire bathroom in water. That’s the part I honestly don’t like.
I very much wanted to like this product based on all the great reception it's been getting in the press. However, I will mostly uninstall this from my shower and reconsider it during warmer months.
Note that the spray from the showerhead is not adjustable (PureAction does sell a different showerhead that is adjustable). It sprays a lot of thin, fine lines of water at high pressure. I barely turn the faucet on and the spray is strong. But because each spray is so thin, it tickles more than it feels satisfying. The other issue with the super fine spray is hot water loses its temperature very quickly. When used so there is a short distance between the shower head and body, the water is fine. But once it's moved beyond 36", the water feels very cold. I've had to turn the temperature all the way to hot to get warm shower, if I hold the showerhead close to me (no mounting it to the wall). For reference with my old shower head I've only needed to adjust the temperature slightly to get a warm shower. This might be fine in the summer, but definitely not sustainable for winter.
