Deformation in less than a month

I love that this thing is made out of bamboo making it very light, but after only a month of having it the whole top has started to bow causing the bamboo strips to "crack" apart. Also, when I received the product, the top was not 100% flat causing my mouse to not fully make contact, I had to get a mouse pad to use my mouse.
To be clear the product can still be used, but its just poor quality(especially for the price), really wish I listened to all of the other reviews stating this issue.

Had high hopes for this, and if you get one that isn't immediately warped out of the gate, you may have better luck. Original I bought, along with the replacement both were warped, likely due to the lip on one side that prevents your devices and what not from sliding off compressing the surface unevenly during shipping and storage. The foam on the back is nice, and weight is good. The surface does not seem durable or robust compared to a different style I had previously (much heavier and adjustable) but maybe that's just a trade off. Potentially if they shipped this with the device catch detached and in the box, it wouldn't cause the damage. The surface had some cracks where the bamboo joins due to the warpage. Will likely deteriorate further. Unpacked my second one and let it rest for 10 days or so to see if it would relax back into a flat surface. It did not.

I just received the above order and while I like the XL-Large Oversized Lap Desk, I do NOT like the fact that because it has individual slats of wood there are ridges across the entire surface. I consider this as a defect and I would like to return the product.

However, I like the rest of the product and I am wondering if there is a similar product available with a one-piece/smooth top.

I did a thorough search for a lap desk that would accommodate my MacBook and mouse...this was it! It fit like a glove...begin able to type and use the mouse without any issue. The lap desk comes with a convenient plastic pocket insert that accommodates my iPhone or iPad. (not both at the same time) The cushion is firm and comfortable although I never did use or need to use the adjustable bolster pillow. My biggest disappointment came when I noticed the lap desk beginning to split where the bamboo pieces are joined together. Yes...I did read about this issue in other reviews and still proceeded with the purchase. Well, I should have known better...

Product looks great and felt great initially. However, after a couple uses the heat from the laptop caused the wood to split at the seams. This doesn't seem like a manufacturing flaw of mine, but more a flaw of the design and materials.

It's a shame too, because this thing looks great and has a nice thick pad and was only lapdesk I could find that would work comfortably with a 17" laptop and mouse.

This will probably be fine for an office machine or lighter use, but can't take the heat from a workstation laptop that is outputting real heat.

Loved this at first especially the corner strap which was useful in securing my multiport adapter to keep it from falling off the desk. Have had it for about a year and a half and several months ago noticed laptop wasn't sitting flush and top was not smooth. The top is now convex w/ the middle part curved up. Top has never gotten wet. No idea why it has now warped. Disappointed with the quality.

I have a 17" Dell Alienware area 51m R2 laptop and needed a lapdesk. The last one that this one replaces fit the laptop okay but used microbeads of foam? for padding. The dimensions of this one, Dimensions: 21.1 x "12.9 😢" x 3.74 inch just barely fit the laptop. Also the cushion under the slots have a depression on the bottom side of the cushion. Not real well made in this area. very poor Q&A it seems. I will used this for a while and see if it's worth keeping. Will update later.

I really like the size of the Lap Desk, however it was made of bamboo and now (90 days later) has significant bow in the surface. My laptop and mouse are not stable - tend to rock back and forth over the bow. The bow is roughly 1/2" high in the center.

I ordered this 6 months ago. Use it with my 17” laptop. It was great, comfy and lightweight. HUGE problem that I’ve experienced over the past few weeks is that it has started to bend up in the middle, so now my laptop slips off the front of it, above the stopper. It’s no longer usable for me and it’s very disappointing that it only lasted a few months.
