Just the right thickness. Used to have a thicker one & kept tripping. Wish it was just a little wider (not longer-length is perfect) even 1" would be better. Gave 4 for pain relief, because haven't experienced it yet.
I like that it provides a soft stable surface while I cook, and the brown looks good on my wood floors. Easy to clean as well. I gave four stars because when I first got it the fumes were so strong I thought I was going to need to return it. I put it on our (large) screen porch for a day, flipped it over for another day - the fumes were still strong (smelled like a freshly opened bottle of rubber cement). Last resort hung it over two chairs out there so air could circulate all around it. It was another three days (5 total) before I could bring it inside to use. It’s been fine ever since. Might take longer if it’s cold out.
My cat tends to chew on my kitchen mat corners so I go through quite a few over time. I thought I would try this since it's almost the exact length as the sink bar. This is the first I've bought with a distinctive bevel so I am hoping this will last for a year or two. It's been a month so far and she's shown no interest in chewing on it so I may be OK here. :) But aside from my cat, this mat has a pretty decent "cush" without sinking so deep you trip on your own feet. I'm not too fond of the embossed design, but it washes nicely and stays where I put it without sliding around. I recommend it.
It looks nice & is made nice. I was disappointed that it wasn't more cushy like my last one. The length is good, the width could be a couple inches wider for sure. It does move in toward the kick plate but isn't wide enough to let it stay there.
