I received mine undamaged, seems like sturdy metal, white to match my desk. I screwed it to the bottom of my desk facing the back so everything is hidden. It is holding 2 mini charge boxes and a 5 outlet extension cord with 4 plugs attached. I don't see that I received an adhesive tape, not sure if I was supposed too. Great product, would recommend.
Because it is bent, thin gauge metal it is possible to bend it out of shape. However, it does serve it’s purpose well. I have a 5 outlet power bar sitting in it. I used some tie raps to strap cords and cables and place in the tray. I guess for the money, it’s not a bad cable tray. For the price, I expected something a little more sturdy.
The product is nothing to write home about, but it's exactly what you would expect. The cable tray holds a power strip and a large power adapter, two if you pack it tight. Have to work to cram cords in since the lip is not particularly deep. The quality is fine for a consumer product. It doesn't seem particularly worth thirty bucks, but having solid metal is worth it over the mesh/grid variants on the market. I bought this for my Vari desk, but in hindsight, I wish I had gone with their tray instead. Theirs looks much sturdier and has a larger, deeper bucket, with a pivot hinge for easy access.
I have a big of a longer desk so I opted for 2 of these but one will work for the majority of people.
This is made of a thinner metal that is coated in paint. No scuffs, bends, or any damages so far, and each tray is supporting a power strip and a bunch of cables, some in runs and some not.
I feel like these might be a bit pricy for what they are (I paid around $20 USD each) but it is well worth it for me to have all of my cables and strips neatly organized, and more importantly, off of the ground.
Installation was a little tough, I would have given this product 5 stars if they included the following: * 2x washers to go between the screw head and the tray body--with only the provided screws it flexes and wobbles a little * A paper template for the screw holes. It was a challenge to mark as I lay under the desk. If you had your desk upside down on the floor it would be easier, but a template would be the best.
Neither is a deal-breaker, and I'm overall happy with this product
This under desk cable tray is very easy to install. Two screws and its secured under the desk.
Very solid piece of metal, and just right to put the cables and a small surge protector in it. Only thing was that becareful when you put hte screw in. It is best to pre drill two holes, and measured how deep to go. Watched out or if your desk is thin then the screws might go through it... which we almost did!
