I am one of those shoppers that takes HOURS choosing a purchase ... reading reviews, comparing products and agonizing over the most trivial concerns. I am pleased to report to other shoppers, that this lap desk is better than I expected. It is not heavy. The top is smooth, but not slick. The fabric is not cheap looking. The fabric is comfortable. It does not have a bad odor. I chose the gray damask print. The print is as shown .. the top color of "wood" matches the gray design of the material perfectly. It looks elegant. My iPhone SE fits securely and there is room to spare if you have a larger phone. The elastic band on the upper lefthand side is wide enough to look nice and appears secure. I agonized about the price. However, I am happy and recommend this item. By the way, my 13.6-inch MacBook Air fits on the desk perfectly. I was afraid I wouldn't have enough room to place my checkbook on the right side of my laptop etc. There is plenty of room if I scoot the laptop to the left. The plastic piece that keeps the laptop from sliding off the bottom of the desk is NOT blocking the force touch trackpad. I do have to move the laptop SLIGHTLY up in order to open the top cover, but that's not a big deal. I hope my review covers any questions for other shoppers.

I sit in my recliner each evening. This lap desk is the perfect size for my lap top or tablet. It is also perfect for letter writing, doing puzzle books or anything else you would do in a moderately size flat area. I especially like the little lip at the bottom of the desk top as it keeps things from sliding off into my lap. There is a slot at the right top for placing pens/pencils or even my phone, very useful, and on the left top corner there is an elastic band about 2" wide. I have used it to hold scrap paper for notes. All in all a great buy and exactly what I was hoping it would be.

This is something that you don't think you need until you get one. Then you wonder how you ever lived without it Lol! Sometimes I like to watch TV and search the internet on my 15-1/2" laptop and the bottom of the laptop gets your legs hot and isn't comfortable. My daughter wanted one for Christmas and I got her one and tried it out and loved it! I ordered 2 more (one for me and my other daughter). It's super comfortable and sturdy and not too big or not too small. Highly recommend!

Bought 2 of these for my mother in law and my mother, both like to sit in their chairs and write down bills while watching tv. They both loved this, they put their phone in the little slot and can balance their checkbooks, wrote a note, read a book, all on their lap and also keeping their phones handy. Never thought they would enjoy this so much.
