To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The black cartridge gave me an error stating that it did not recognize the cartridge. I took it out and reinstalled it a couple of times, same error. I bought an HP Black cartridge and it worked in my printer. So, evidently, Green Works Black cartridge was bad. I contacted the seller and he wanted pictures to make sure I had not damaged the cartridge. So I sent them. Then he came back with some ludicrous instructions that were going to magically fix the problem.
Regarding the problem you met, we suggest you try the following troubleshooting steps: Use a pencil eraser (preferably rubber) and firmly rub over the contacts, then gently brush away any debris. Re-install the cartridge into the printer (You may have to take it out and reinstall it 2-3 times). If the problem persists, reset your printer by: 1. Press and hold the "stop/reset" or "resume" button on your printer for 10 seconds and then release it. 2. Unplug the printer and leave everything off for 2 minutes. 3. Turn on printer and re-install the cartridge, then attempt to print again. It should allow you to continue printing. If it still doesn't work, please contact us and we will offer you a further solution.
Their next email came back with: But we still need a picture of the cartridge chip. In order to help you resolve the issue, could you please kindly tell us more details as following: A photo of the cartridge chip, we need to make sure the chip is well. (The chip is located directly above the ink cartridge.) As shown in the attached picture. Once we received the information, I will report this problem to our product department for a solution, please be patient and wait for a reply. This usually takes a while.
I sent them more pictures. Up to Six pictures. This was really getting ridiculous.
And that was the last I heard from Green Works. This fiasco started on 9/23/2021.
I paid $52 plus tax for a color and black cartridges. I keep expecting to see the color cartridge fail next. There goes $20+ dollars down the drain. I have been a customer of Amazon since 1999, but I am past their return date, so I can't ask them for a refund. I have to rely on the customer, Green Works, which after all the jerking around, I can see that nothing is ever going to happen. Actually, their instruction to clean the cartridge with an eraser was quite funny. That technique was done 50 years ago when contacts had a tendency to corrode. Not anymore. And their instructions to start, stop, resume, reinstall, power off, on, and turn around three times while whistling Dixie.
Looks and feels like regular HP ink cartridges... but as soon as it's installed and I printed the first photo, I noticed this smell. A toxic stench that lingered for days. I've been using HP printers for a long time, at least 22 years. I've never had an issue with the ink as long as I'm using HP ink. That's just the color cartridge. The black cartridge doesn't work at all. The pictures look ok... but unless you're working in a well ventilated area DO NOT buy this smelly stuff!
Ink didn't last. When I contacted the company they quickly offered me two options: complete refund or reshipment. I know things can go wrong so I opted for a reshipment. I have just received the new cartridges and will test and repost a review
The Tri-color Ink is no longer recognized by printer after a month of minimal use. The printer complains that it can't recognize the cartridge and to remove and reinstall it. I've done that multiple times. It sure seems like the tri-color cartridge's chip is defective. This is the shortest duration I've ever owned aftermarket printer cartridges and I've never seen one fail in this way (usually they just run out of ink earlier than expected). We don't print heavily and only buy cartridges once a year normally.
I ordered to have on hand. Once needed, the Magenta section did not have any ink! I cleaned the print heads twice, but no Magenta seems to be in the cartridge, therefore many of my documents have incorrect colors - yellow instead of orange, etc. Unfortunately, I actually installed this after the 30 day return period so I can't return. A waste of $$.
After printing only 3 copies, the black was either not printing at all or so light you couldn't read it. I had to stop in the middle of my project and run to the store for an ink cartridge. Don't waste your money. I will say, however, that I was able to return the faulty cartridge at no cost to me, and Amazon promptly refunded the full purchase price.
I first gave a good review upon arrival. I printed out 2 copies. about 3 weeks later, I tried to print…no luck. It came back with reinstall cartridge. I tried 3 times. I had to go to the store and replace it with an original. They said NO Refund. It was after 30days. AMAZON gladly refunded my money. Don’t buy from Greenbox. These cartridges, to me, are garbage. Never again
I thought something was wrong with my printer. I changed the cartridges, but didn't have to print anything until a couple of days ago. It keeps saying something is wrong with the cartridges. I just looked now and it says its too late to return. They are full and nothing comes out. I should be reimbursed.
Bought last Nov when I didn’t know I still had HPS left. Just opened in an emergency & my HP WILL NOT RECOGNIZE them no matter how many times I reinsert them!!! In the middle of Corona I had to rush to the store to get HP because everything is out of stock online. Too late to return these. Had thought it was a great financial option & better for environment but instead they’re going in the trash. Hard lesson learned. Don’t risk it unless you try them BEFORE you can’t return them.
These ink cartridges did not with my printer . The ink lasted less than 2 weeks. My printer quit reading the color cartridge completely and would not print. I haven't tried the black cartridge and I'm not sure I will. Purchased name brand ink to get the printer to print again.
