You pay a premium for HP toner, and should expect it to be better than compatibles, and more reliable. Generally I can say that is the case, but my last order of this saw the black cartridge start leaking (leaving blotches on pages) after just a few hundred pages. Cleaning cycles cured the issue for about 50 pages at a time (but a cleaning cycle wastes a lot of toner itself). Past my return window so I had to deal with HP support... ugh. 3 Hours (really) of online Chat support later they agreed to send me a new cartridge. If you want us to pay the premium, then back it up and don't make it this painful to get resolution to a problem. In the end, I have 4 cartridges that work, but should be better and easier than this for the premium you pay.

Yes, buying toner is expensive - although buying the set is a bit less expensive - but I have found the HP printer does much better with HP products than after market ones. And while it is expensive, it really is about what I would spend on ink for an inkjet printer each year because (1) I use a lot of ink and (2) ink will dry out if you don't use it fast enough and toner does not!

Toner isn't very sexy, it's like electricity, you take it for granted when its available, but when its out your productivity is dramatically affected. Our business relies on a HP Color LaserJet and to ensure that it is always available, we always have spare toner. We don't want to mess around with non-OEM toner, as I've tried it in the past and it has caused issues. The multi-pack makes it easy to stock. We highly recommend the HP Toner.
