I had purchased another lap desk Sold by: The Original Lap Desk Company also marketed as a LapGear desk but with a narrow opening at the top corner to hold a pencil or prop up a cell phone previously and loved it for use at college to work on my computer or eat meals in bed or on the couch. Because I am now back home due to my school moving online due to the pandemic, I figured I’d get one for my parent’s home for the same purposes and was super pleased to find one with a cup holder as I always felt the was the small minor thing missing from the other one. When I received this lapdesk, it didn’t seem to be packaged quite as nicely and the fabric bottom was squishier than my previous one, but it didn’t matter much. Unfortunately after 3 uses (nothing rough or out of the ordinary, just sitting with my tablet studying), I noticed multiple small round foam balls scattered on my bed. Upon investigation, I discovered the corners of the fabric bottom on this lapdesk have not been properly sewn like on my original lapdesk back at school and these appear to just be tucked/folded in and are now allowing bunches of the annoying little foam balls to escape whenever I move this lapdesk around. I’ve considered glueing the corners but the thin stretchy fabric will likely be a struggle to hold the glue properly and without a mess. I will be retuning this one and getting one of the other style from the other supplier with better construction. I’m really disappointed because the cup holder was great.
