To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I first purchased these over a year ago and have been very pleased. So much so that they are now part of my Subscribe & Save. I have accidentally left them on containers when placed into the dishwasher, still come off like magic, no residue and the writing was still perfectly clear. The labels have adhered wonderfully to food in the freezer or fridge. To the person who complained about her Sharpie smearing, I call bs. I use a Sharpie one every single label and never had a smear. And, for the dude that gave these two stars simply because they roll out the “wrong” way to suit his right-handed needs, just stop that nonsense. Folks like this make it difficult for normal people to rely on reviews. I am really starting to think some people need to be supervised on the Internet.
I bought these to use in my restaurant. They're a bit small, but that wasn't an issue, really. The only thing is that if you put them on something and freeze it, they fall off in the freezer. I tried them on both freezer bags, as well as freezer containers; both without success. That's definitely a deal breaker for a business. They work great for refrigerated items and I love that they don't get gluey gunk on the container lids. But for the price, I'll keep using them on refrigerated items.
My mother-in-law was a full-time caregiver to my father-in-law (he just passed a couple of weeks ago). One of the things she told me over and over was how difficult it was to make 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, keep them creative AND care for my father-in-law. One of their lifelong friends gave my husband and I money to buy them a Christmas gift this past Christmas. We decided a little apartment freezer would be just the thing and I'd package up meals monthly that they could use when she wasn't up to cooking. I bought these labels to attach to the tin containers I was using and they've been GREAT! They stick beautifully and peel off easily. You definitely want to peel them off before baking or reheating the food because they melt. Some of the labels have been on for 3 months and they're still sticking.
These would NOT stick to anything! As soon as I applied them to a container, they started peeling off. I thought it might just be at the beginning of the roll (in case they gotten hot during storage or something), so I tried some closer to the center. The results were the same. I don't understand all the positive feedback!!
These are great food labels! I use them for labelling food in the fridge, you can write the date that the food was made and what is in the container. (Let's be honest, sometimes there have been science projects growing because the original cooked date was unknown, nor what is inside.) Also I've gotten these labels wet, and they will still restick. They stay in one piece when pulling them off also. Great labels, though I wish they made more room for the contents field.
