I am reasonably happy with this rolling pin, as it does its job reasonably well. However, coming from the Oxo product line, I would expect a bit more. Overall, the pin is too light, requiring extra downforce to flatten doughs. The handles are also concerningly flimsy, giving me concern that they will let me down in the future. Otherwise, it's easy to clean and the bend on the handles makes it more ergonomic than a conventional rolling pin. Unfortunately, you'll be using the extra ergonomics to push down a lot since the pin is so light, as previously mentioned.
This rolling pin is just okay. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a bit lighter than I would have hoped, making it pretty difficult to use for rolling out home made pasta. Cutting the nearly flat dough in half then rolling again did the job, but would prefer if I did not need to use as much pressure.
Previously, I bought the non-stick pins. they have held up ok,but they're not REALLY non-stick and scratch easily, but it generally does the job, especially for the price. I just ordered several 10" wooden pins. 2 of them didn't even roll when I unpacked them, they would stick. The dowel is really flimsy wood, really flexible. one broke the first time a student used it. If you're needing something cheap, and won't be needing ANY pressure,(not sure what that would be) these might work. This one is non stick and really good so I got this one and will be ordering more for my class. A lot of fun for the students..
The rolling pin works well, is easy to use, and clean up is a breeze. The handles are very comfortable to work with, but the rolling pin is too big, much to long. The barrel of the pin is okay, it could be a bit smaller in diameter, but it's okay. The negative for me is the length of the pin, it feels awkward and clumsy to use in my hands. The OXO Good Grips Non-stick Rolling Pin is a nice pin for the price.
