To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Great mount. Holds my 34inch ultrawide acer 34p well. Only thing I'm disappointed in is the item itself. Not only was the mount already pre assembled some bits, one of the hex screws was stripped due to someone trying to install. The plastic bag containing mount screws etc was ripped open on the corner. Hence it was not a brand new product. Not happy in that regards
I am revising my review, including the Headline because I am now getting harassing emails (at least 7 times) from this vendor to change my review. Here's my original review:
"Tension Screw for Height Adjustment is Impossible to Torque"
"I bought two of these and the build quality is excellent. However, I am returning both of them because the tension screw at the top to move the arm monitors up and down are impossible to turn correctly. I've had two other people try to adjust the arm so it can move up and down and they couldn't do it either. The manufacturer should have just built an attached knob that turns to adjust the tension on the arm.
I do like the build on this because it's pretty high quality but this arm is unusable the way it's currently manufactured." ____________________________________________________
After I wrote the review above, I started getting emails from this vendor under various Gmail accounts with names like "Elizabeth Lane", "Lisa Sutton" and various others. I've gotten at least 7 emails from ErGear under various Gmail accounts asking me to remove my review above and return they've offered me $30 then $40 and $50 in Amazon credit. The more I ignored their emails, they've increased the dollar amounts. This vendor is rated highly because they are trying to pay Amazon customers to remove their negative reviews. DO NOT TRUST THIS VENDOR. I am copying and pasting an email they sent me:

Dear Amazon Customer
This is Chris, apologizing for the uncomfortable experience that our for ErGear 22-35" Premium Single Monitor Stand Mount w/USB bring to you.
[Amazon Customer Comment: Hmm...Hey Chris, which is obviously not your real name, why are you using Elizabeth Lane's email account (in the FROM email address above)? Also, shouldn't you actually have an email address with your company's domain name instead of a Gmail address?]
I am a small seller of Amazon. My bankruptcy when I was young led my wife to stay away from me. I take care of three children myself. Parents are seriously ill and their age is already very large. So the whole family's hope lies in this product.
Due to my long lack of sleep, there is a problem with the manufacturer and my communication, and it appears on some products. The bad experience of the product is directly related to this.
I apologize to you again. These bad reviews bother me because my mistakes give you a bad shopping experience and I can't sleep.I will pay you $50 for your unsatisfactory shopping experience. At the same time, I will try my best to do it. I hope you can forgive my fault.
[Amazon Customer Comment: If the bad reviews bother you, build a quality product instead of trying to bribe and buy positive reviews on Amazon.]
Could you help me to remove? here is link for review: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R27ANCGQXMPTSP/?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B084JHNG1R

I deeply beg you to update your comment. Can you give me a reply when you see this email? thanks again. I wish you happiness forever.

I am sharing this with everyone because this vendor keeps sending me emails to the point of harassment to remove my initial review (which I posted above as reference). I've reported this to Amazon four times already and they are "reviewing" it again. Amazon customers rely on the reviews for quality products and any manipulation by a vendor to artificially raise their product ratings by paying customers to remove their negative reviews or paying for positive reviews should not be tolerated on Amazon. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT simply for the fact that we shouldn't be supporting a company that isn't willing to improve their product, harasses people who leave negative comments and pays for positive reviews trying to manipulate buyers with false reviews.
Warning to potential buyers, I have returned the first one I ordered and the replacement arrived with the same problem: cannot adjust the height of the arm.
I am frankly astonished that this product has such high stars. Maybe at some point you could reliably operate the tension release, but the two products they have sent me were defective in this regard.
There is a place where supposedly, according to the instructions, you can insert an allen wrench and adjust the tension. However, the hole is misaligned with the screw and is cutoff by the angle of the arm itself.
Believe me, with both I have tried and tried to fit it and it just won't budge without me damaging the plastic.
I would love for someone to respond that they have found this product to work, but I have noticed another review recently that purports the same problem.
BUYER BEWARE -- SHOP FOR SOMETHING ELSE, THIS IS DEFECTIVE
What an absolute horrible product. Ordered 2 of these thinking the second one wouldn’t be faulty. The height adjustment is a horror show, it is impossible to twist with the Allen wrench that were provided. It is impossible to move since the arm itself blocks the Allen wrench. Do not buy this. It is surprising how this has close to 5 stars. Will never buy again
Bought two of these on black friday. Got the 34" ModelEI342CKR Pbmiippx monitors today, each weighs 15.48 LBS with stand (3LBS), so barely 13LBS yet the ergear arm just drops. It looks hefty but can't be used for 13LBS. Parts broke off while doing video and more came out but can't upload two videos. Dont buy this! Hope that helps you guys and Amazon makes it easy to return.
I got his today and this thing barely hold my Acer Predator X35. The adapter that attaches to the monitor to be able to tilt the screen Up-down is as tight as it goes yet monitor screen tilts downwards, this monitor is estimated to weight 22.8Lbs way below what this stand is rated at 26.5Lbs but can't hold 23.8Lbs. I am going to return it and look for something else. So disappointing since price was great.
Can't even assemble it. The base that attaches to the desk doesn't extend to my large desk at start...which wouldn't be a problem except this base started with the 4 screws attached to the two base pieces (see picture) and I was able to get 3 out but the 4th one was pre-stripped and soft as a screw gets. So because I cannot detach these two pieces for the base it won't fit my desk anyway and is 100% useless. If I could have detached it....or it came not put together already it would have been just attached at the correct spot for my desk and there wouldn't have been any problems. I have Initiated my return and I will have to go for a more expensive actual "premium" arm.
Downgrading again. after 2 months (to the date) and about 1.5months since it was installed with a 16.5lb monitor, the monitor hangs down 5-7 degrees when I want it at 0 degrees (vertical). the tension is not there and there's no way it works as advertised. I have ordered a replacement to see if I just happen to have received a defective item.
Downgrading. Over time, the vertical adjustments begins to weaken to support my 25.2 lb monitor. after 2 weeks of use, monitor slowly tilts down as the plastic weakens. I attempted to tighen the nut (not documented but there is an arrow on the nut) but the bolt begins to chew into the plastic. There's no way this can support the describe weight max. I would say no more than 22-24lbs max.
Broke after 2 months with a 27" display. Product looks great, easy to assemble and functioned beautifully, until the hinge that connects directly to the display gave out. Now my display looks like it is constantly looking at the ground. The company no longer responds since it was fulfilled by amazon.
