The arm was not adjustable. I tried fixing according to the instructions from the seller and still didn't work. I was forced to send it back to Amazon for a refund. I got an email from the seller apologizing this situation and they promised to send me a new laptop mount for free on August 4th. To today I am still waiting and I don't know when that will happen. If I receive it I will update my review.
I was worried the product would not be horizontally stable on the angle I needed, due to a review I read. I chose to buy it anyway because there was nothing else like it on the market, that I could find, and this suited my needs perfectly - especially with a small desk space. I was not disappointed. It is very stable. The Tutorials accessed via QR code made assembly and operation easy and I am very happy with my purchase.
I really wanted to like this mounting arm. I use it with my Razer Blade 15" laptop and it works as intended but there are a few design and build errors that keep it from being a great purchase in my opinion.
The Good: - Easy to set up and adjust - Feels relatively sturdy, I don't have any fears or issues of my laptop falling off. - The cutout at the bottom means more room for more airflow to the bottom fans which means cooler temps
The bad - You can see in the second picture that at certain rotation angles of the arm, my laptop will actually tilt to the left. I haven't edited the photo or anything. I actually grabbed a level to make sure I wasn't crazy. I don't feel like it affects the stability but I notice it right away and it definitely feels bad and is a huge disappointment for me. - The rotation point of the actual laptop stand (where you can tile the laptop forwards and back) squeaks whenever I change the angle of it which again ruins the experience a little bit more
Conclusion - I can't say the arm and the laptop mount are bad. They work as intended and I have no fears of my laptop falling or breaking. That said, the 2 downsides may be small and maybe you can look past them but I use this laptop and stand every day and if I knew I would have to deal with these 2 things, I might have gotten a different arm + stand.
This laptop arm is really nice. It currently holds an HP Omen 15" with ease, and allows me to move it around on my desk without issue. I have it installed on my desk via the screw down bracket, and it is very solid. I like that it has an adjustable tray so you can change the angle of your laptop, in addition to the height. When you first set it up, the arm is very stiff. I had loosened it up, but I felt like I was going to break something trying to get it to move down. My best recommendation is to not be afraid, as the arm can take a lot of pressure. My biggest complaint is that if you take off the laptop then the rubber protectors that prevent the laptop from getting scratched pop out very easily. It's a small annoyance, but I wish they had a better design for them. Overall, I would definitely recommend this stand. It's not overly expensive, holds the laptop safely and securely, and it hasn't moved unless I move it, which is what you really need in a quality stand.
The title. Fits nice and snug on a thicc laptop. I can see it expands large enough for 17 inches or thicker laptops if needed. The rubber padding and the grips on the side keep it stable. The arm is strong to hold but can be flexible enough to move around if you loosen it.
I got this mount to keep my personal laptop off to the side of my desk when I work. It does the job. Easy to install mount, study base. I did have an issue with wobbling after a while and the company was quick to send me a replacement. Excellent customer service. I do wish it would sit a bit lower to the desk but that is just a personal preference for how I'd like to use it but still would recommend this mount to others.
Probably the best swing arm I've used. The fact that it's limited to one arm makes it sturdier, but it's also obviously well built. I use it to hold my WACOM Intuos Pro 16" so i can neatly swing it away when not in use. I was impressed so I got another one to hold a heavy 17" laptop. There is only the problem with the laptop in that the clamps of the arm will cover the usb slots that I need. Luckily, the clamps are pretty solid and the laptop heavy enough that i can just situate it an inch higher and it still sits fine. It's not like I need to move it so much anyway, just the lateral swing motion to move it out if I need to.
Easy to put up. Easy to adjust. Not disappointed at all.
This mount is rock solid, easy to type on, easy to adjust. The only problem I have is where the side clasps are to hold the laptop interfere with the HDMI port on my laptop. I can slip it in the gap in the clasp, but it is under awkward tension
I needed a way to get my laptop off my art desk as it was in the way of my Cricut machines but I needed the laptop to use the Cricut. This was a perfect solution. I love that I can use all my machines without having to move anything. The range of the arm is wonderful and I’m very happy with it. I chose to use the clamp so if I want to rearrange I can do that easily.
I was a bit skeptical in purchasing this arm because there were few reviews. However, I'm so glad I did. This arm has worked out great for my desk setup. The adjustable arm allows me to move the laptop both horizontally and vertically very easily. The tension in the arm is easy to adjust.
