I don't know if men really care about what brand of tape they use, but I've found out all tape is not all created equal! Being a single mom I ended up doing the jobs that usually are done by “ the man of the house” and worked as a stage hand for many years..I would buy tape based on how many rolls and what's the price and I ended up with some really crappy product. There is a difference and this brand is a good deal, it definitely is a better quality compared others you use less, it's stronger, stays where u put it. It may be a small part of the job u need it for but trial and error teaches u what works best and does a better job. So yep the small details matter and when u use this brand for whatever u do it's just better.

Regular white PTFE thread tape (the cheap stuff) measures 0.04mm thick. (Very Thin)
Mega Tape (Gray Water PTFE tape) from Lowe's measures 0.10mm thick. (Heavy Duty)
This tape is advertised to be 0.09mm thick, but it is really 0.08mm thick.
That may not sound like a big difference between what it really is compared to what it is advertised to be, but that means it is 11% thinner than advertised.
OK, I may be splitting hairs, but if they say it is 0.09mm thick, that is what I expect it to be.
Anything less takes away stars.

When repairing a leaky faucet or garden hose, you sometimes need to build up the threading, if its worn down or create a watertight seal. Plumbers tape is easy to use and there are several how-to videos on YouTube. I have been happy with this tape. It creates a watertight seal between joints and is also used to lubricate the connection of the joints to make the threading smoother and easier to disassemble.

I ran out of some good Teflon tape I bought a few years ago from the hardware store. I kick myself for not remembering the brand. I was hoping this would be equally good since there were so many good reviews, but NOPE… this teflon tape is VERY THIN compared to what I was using before. It’s SO THIN YOU CAN SEE THROUGH IT!
