Argh, I really wanted to like this range but my 7 year old daughter just does not get along with it. It's frustrating to say the least. The storybook range is a fantastic idea and being able to travel with it, made it more appealing. The problem is, this needs breaking apart every time. The clip on the book doesn't even stay together, so it can't be closed and put on display. Even during play, the pieces break away from the book and due to the size, it's frustrating to keep building back together. This was bought for a discount price on Black Friday week, but I would never want to pay full price. I think we'll stick to the other Lego ranges in future.
Lovely little set in the form of a book, with extra-small minifigures. My 7 yr old daughter got this today, adores it, played with it non-stop and took it to bed with her. It’s a little bit smaller than I expected but as she loves miniature things it’s perfect.
Very popular with the birthday girl, 3. Confusingly it says 5+ on the box and 36 months in the description, but there was nothing concerning for a supervised 3yo. The parts, fully constructed, fit easily in the closed case for easy storage and transport which is a useful feature ('borrowed' from Polly Pocket!).
I bought this for my daughter who is a big Frozen fan. It’s a great idea however as the clasp on the book itself is Lego pieces it can pop off. The Lego inside is great and comes with lots to build, but if you want to close the book you have to take them apart.
I’ve purchased all of the Lego book kits for the princesses and the new Harry Potter sets. I love these, how they can transform to look like a book on a shelf is so cute. I feel like once it’s built it also makes for a nice travel set to play with as well.
